against the grain
Hi ladies and gentlemen species of all kinds, how the F**** are you guys doing ?
hey so i just recently joined the forum but i have been following it for a while now to be honest i have trouble navigating through forums i find myself sometimes getting to things by accident and can never find them again. but i think i got the hang of it now. so what did i come on this thread to say? i came to make it public that what is one form of look that isn't common on the BRZ/FRS/86 i know everyone eventually goes wide body either rally backer or rocket bunny and sometimes like fake kits / replica kits whatever it may be. to me i feel like that's the easy way out , now don't get me wrong i love the wide body look and i don't hate on anyone that does it, me personally, i wouldn't be able to afford a real kit and maybe i would be able to do a replica kit but then the wheels are a whole other struggle, i definitely wouldn't be able to cough up the money for a nice set of wheels like TJ hunt and others who have gone wide. my plans are to build my brz eventually, and i do not for one build cars to please others by any means, i solely build cars to my specification and if its not approved by others well then shit, its not their car! so all in all what do you guys think? what form/stance do you like most to see the 86 of this day in? is wide body cool or is it going main stream ? are you guys into stance, camber or netflix and chill? my goals : my goal is to get over fenders in the front or mold in a wide body front, canards for the front bumper, and excessive camber and poke. get some BC racing coils dr specs, and im thinking fifteen 52 wheels but rpf1's are more in my price range and less of a risk of scratching, breaking them, etc. i would like to keep the rear quarters some what stock and or get some custom moldings going on, probably duck tail trunk and over big wang gang !!! sounds kind of basic which this post is kind of addressing but i assure you that it wont be, then i will lay on some fufu ass graphics not sure as to what i want now but im totally for like the 2f2f 1st movie and what not like the real jap looks that just stick out like sore thumbs. please let me know what you guys are in to and want to do to your build and simply if you agree with me or not on the look of the 86 game, can you truly be different in today's world ? |

YIKES ...... what a post!
Welcome to the forum. It's sometimes is hard to follow some of us, because we think and post fragmented. Personally, I like the way my car looks stock. However, since it's your car ...... do whatever you want with it. Have fun making it "yours" ....... humfrz |

Everyone goes wide-body kit eventually? Country i live in probably is barbaric one, haven't seen any twin with wide body kit, like what each & every twin owner world-wide are installing, as you say. And i applaud their hard work to keep it secret. Photoshopping pics to hide the fact, bribing all withnesses to hush about it. Such conspiracy takes lot of effort.
P.S. Check Cosmetical Modification section of this forum. This section .. is not exactly right one. :P |

Hey, man - welcome to the forum. The beauty to car ownership in America is you have the freedom to do anything you want, even if it's the absolute horror and shit show you so artfully described.
Good luck with your project and, by all means, do post pictures! |

You asked so you have no one to blame but yourself.
Broad generalisations such as "everybody" are likely to get under some people's skin. I am suggesting most people don't mod their cars at all. Most people don' track their car, most people don't do engine swaps or go forced induction. Most people don't drive BRZs. Many people here appreciate carefully worded questions. I also think your punctuation is sadly lacking. No.

Welcome.
Dude it's your car do what you want to it. You can either go all show and no go, and become a parking lot queen that circle jerks for every photo op. Or You can just enjoy a problem free budget little sports car that's good for daily driving and having fun on the track. If at any time you want to beat an STI or out run a Camero SS then sell the 86 and buy a better, faster car. Either way I wouldn't call body kits a "build" too many nerds with zero car skills been using that term as of late. Then again most of them came from the ricer Honda nation or are hardcore F&F fans. So either spend cash looking fast and get smoked by a PT Cruiser driven by grandma, or look good and then crash at your first power slide cause you have zero skill and become YouTube infamous in any idiot driver channel. Lastly just enjoy the car as is or with actual go fast part upgrades and sharpen your driving skills. Your call.

When you ask for an opinion on here be prepared for harshness and a$$hole comment's. Just do whatever you like not what everyone thinks because most likely those that have $hit ugly cars troll about other's cars that looks better then theirs because they have small p$nis's.
