Header and FF kit finally arrived after UPS held them hostage and tried to extort me for money. Freaking UPS wanted $40+ in fees to pay the $6.90 in duties... so I said screw that and learned to do it myself. Holy crap was it easy once UPS got off their lazy can kicking asses and sent me the proper paperwork they're legally required to send. Printed it out, walk into the customs/border office, verify ID and shipment contents, pay the cashier, and get a paper saying I paid the man.

Going to install everything tomorrow, hopefully the o2 sensors don't put up a major fight. For now I am going to just clean them, but depending on their condition new ones will be ordered. Also got new OEM header to block bolts and OEM exhaust gaskets from Subaru.

Those courier fees are pretty infuriating on low cost items.

Let me know how that FF kit works out for you, I will potentially be in the market come spring.

The fees are completely arbitrary. I've had items with $100 in import duties and a $5 fee, and then this with $6.90 in duties and a $40+ fee... same amount of work for them to file the paperwork, so what gives on the random fee %...

re: FF will let you know, the evap kits all install more or less the same, I'll be using the OFT FF kit install guide

I will be making a package run trip to the US border next weekend to get around that issue. Being an hour away has its benefits

I want to hear how that MXP sounds

Was making sure it wasn't the nameless header. It looks similar but the collector is a bit different.

Paying the duties myself was cheaper than the gas to drive to the border and the PO/shipping box fees, but when I was in Ontario I did that often. I'll get some driving videos with the header... eventually

Nameless would be sweet, and I'm on their mailing list if they ever restart production of it. Eventually a JDL 4-2-1 or Ace-350 would be nice, but for the price I paid, we'll rock the MXP.

Been tuning with Steve, so far so good. Car runs great and there's definitely more umph. Still don't think I'd pay retail for a set of header tbh, but for sub 1k USD all in it's a nice upgrade to have.

Also picked up some fresh knuckles off of a 2016 BRZ with ~50k km for next spring. Going to swap in some ARP wheel studs, fresh axles, and fresh hardware to refresh the driveline. My logic for this is that both axles are leaking grease from all 4 boots, and it's easier to swap the whole knuckle than to fight with the beyond crusty bolts holding in my current wheel bearings. Plus fresh shiny parts with significantly less KMs are always nice.

Another new to me part... picked up a hole-free OEM trunk lid locally for cheap. Came with a horrible paint job free of charge, but no dents and the seller included hinges and all wiring. Definitely going to be a project to clean this up and make it at least semi-presentable.

The donor car in question, my favorite part is the painted over turn signals

It's awful, the paint chips off with a fingernail.

After an hour of paint stripping the trunk, it is no longer an assault on the eyes.

I think the car was stolen, recovered, and parted out; because the paint was eggshell wall paint applied with a paint roller, the trunk lid release latching is missing with the key release wire cut, and the "security tag" has the serial number scraped off with a key.

With that said, it is the perfect blank canvas for my Black Friday purchase...
