Any of them will hit that goal easily.

The advantage to the upgraded 2860rs and above is transient response- meaning how it reacts when you touch the gas pedal initially.

The base turbo is still amazing and perfect for 99% of people

I would say get the gt2860RS. It's like anything above is basically head room for more power later on. Gt2860RS spools faster and is oil and water cooled iirc whereas the base is just oil cooled.

G>GTX>GT>GTW ...is that correct fellas? I think the G turbos are the newest line. I believe they are the most efficient, and they should provide the most area under the curve, so fast response and decent top end, if I understand what is going on. If the OP has such modest goals then one of these smaller turbos might be good. I think a G25-550 will have the fastest spool, and it will be able to pull all the way to redline. What do you guys think?

Is it a PITA to setup the water cooling aswell?

As @Joveen said, the GT28R is the base model. It's a nice improvement over the previous Precision 4831.

The GT2860RS is unequivocally better in every regard, but I think that extra cost is better invested in supporting mods if your goal is 300whp and under

I wonder how the 2860rs would compare to the 25-550 for spool.

The G25 should spool faster. If you call JDL they can put the G25 in your kit instead of the options that are in that list.

I think the G25 is the V3 kit. Maybe g more expensive that the gtx kits and requires the upgraded 700hp intercooler.

From what I have read the GT-550 will spool faster and have more top end. The G25-660 spools as fast or faster than the GTX28, while having the same top end as the GTX35.

I’ve been debating what turbo I would want for the K24. My ideal powerband is more supercharger with something that pulls to redline, but still has low end power and low lag. I feel like the G25-550 might be good, but a little constrictive up top, yet I really don’t want more than 350-400whp for now, so I think the G25-550 will be more than enough.
