So I'm sitting across from my car outside of First Watch yesterday waiting to be seated, and these two little kids (8 years old?) come up to my car and start looking it over up and down. Peering into the driver window, getting on the ground and looking under the front bumper and going "whooooa" and stuff, and one of them looks at his dad and asks, "Daddy, is this a Porsche?" I couldn't help but smile, remembering when I was younger and every sporty looking car was a Porsche. Made me chuckle.

This happened to me yesterday. I was sitting in my car and an older guy walked up and told me he thought it was a Porsche.

Someone said nice MCoupe to me before. Girls who don't know any better think i drive an Aston Martin.... My car is whatever you want it to be girls, as long as you come inside for a ride, I'll do the same.

most people i know who hve no idea have asked me if the car costs anywhere from 40k up to 80k

I had some guy at the gas station ask me if there was a Porsche engine in it (he thought Porsche was the only company that made boxer engines).

I was at the shell in Doylestown and a gentleman from the porsche dealership up the road, a salesman I presume, came by to fill up a 911. I walked to my car and said "Hey nice boxer!" he says "no it's a 911 actually"....I told him it still had a Boxer engine. He just looked confused. I made sure to enunciate so it wouldn't sound like Boxster too. It's ok, he only works for Porsche.

He was probably confused because porsche calls it flat six.

It's just as bad when people think the BRZ has a Boxster Engine. Perhaps Porsche naming the Boxster was a mistake when then engine is a Boxer...

I was asked the same thing parking at an upscale restaurant next to a strip club. One of the girls asked what kind of car and her friend said it was a Maserati. They asked me if I was coming into the club and said they would get me in for free. I looked at them and laughed and just walked away.

I park mine at work in the lot; all the firefighters/police members always peer through my windshield wondering where the heck I bought this car; as it obviously doesn't look like your average Subaru.

Always coming back seeing those damn oily smudged finger prints on the windows... Oh well; at least it wasn't on the paint...
