Logs - Misfire Cylinder #1
Hi,
So I've been logging my tune and was wondering how much misfire is normal if any? I've been logging the misfires in all cylinders and during a 15 minute light drive, it looks like cylinder 1 misfired 572 times total while the other 3 have zero misfires. Zero misfire codes so just making sure if this is normal or I need to bring it up with tuner. New spark plugs and coil packs as well. Thanks! |

Zero is ideal. A few is OK. 572 times in 15 minutes is asking to throw a rod through the block!

Anything else you have recently done to the car?

Installed a flex fuel kit, new oem spark plugs, and ignition projects coil packs. Talked to my tuner and he said said a count that large should have a P0301 code as well but no CEL or code. Tuner's response tells me this isn't optimal.
I'll try swapping the coil packs arounds to see if that's the issue. |

Took a closer look at both logs. One is idling for 15 minutes and the other is light cruise for 15 minutes.
One log has misfire #1, no misfires in the other three. The other log has misfire #2 & #4, no misfire in the other two. Strange, guess I’ll be troubleshooting all weekend. |

Check the DI driver module. Make sure all mounting bolts are present and properly tight. It is on the passenger side on top of the head. You likely had to move it if you did plugs. It grounds through its mounting bolts and will cause issues if not tight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

LOL NVM I think I was reading the logs wrong. I'm using Ecutek to read the misfire and none of the individual values is greater than 1. Tuner said it should be a value between 0-100 so I'm assuming it detected 1 over X amount of seconds, not multiple misfires over the X amount of seconds. I'm guessing it adds up so the number should go up if it misfires over a certain amount of time. I just added up the column.
Let me know if I'm wrong. |

misfires on cylinders 1-4. This was with E85 tune with OEM plugs (13k miles) and Delicious red coilpacks (2000 miles).
