I'm still working on cost and will provide updates to anyone interested. I've been told it will be cheaper than NASA. Instructors will be made available to those who want one, as long as we know ahead of time.

This is an invitation-only event, so please let me know me know if you're interested so I can get you connected for registration.

@jeffsides, can you cross post this for me?
@Cross and @bignrichlll can you guys tag Tuscon and West side peeps I miss?
@Juggles, @marc615243, @eric6, @R3NIK, @Celadrielas, @Lischynski, @BobbyBlue86, @kiichiro

sorry to everyone I missed.

I have a question out to the organizer about helmet availability/cost and instructor cost. I know they have (and require for first timers) instructors, I'm just not sure if there's an additional cost yet.

I'd like to get a count of how many folks need helmet and/or instructor and also track experience. You don't need to have any prior experience, it just helps us setup the run groups.

This list below is folks who have expressed interest from here and FB. I'll send everyone the contact info for registration as soon as we have an idea of how many. Your name below doesn't mean you've committed or anything. If you're not on the list and want to be, let me know!

I've never tracked at that course before, so I will most likely need an instructor. I have a couple helmets here, so I will most likely not need a rental. I'll try them on to see if they fit (so I could actually bring them for others if need be). Might as well put me down as a yes to instructor, no to helmet.

The Fall HPDE Track Day Season

Since I'm blowing up the thread with track-related posts, I'll just keep being a post-whore....

I never would have gotten to the track if @Juggles hadn't done this in here before.

If you're interested in getting track time, here are the local events for the rest of the year. The prices I'm quoting below are as of today and assume you have your membership already (I think they're about 50 bucks at each place for one year) and have done your first track day (usually 10-25 bucks one time). I'm not including auto-X in this list, but if someone knows and wants to post that, awesome. These are all HPDE events in Arizona - I didn't include Buttonwillow or Chuckwalla.

www.nasaaz.com
www.proautosports.com

OCTOBER

4th and 5th Saturday and Sunday - Pro Autosports - Wild Horse Pass East - $250 for both days or $150 each day

11th and 12th Saturday and Sunday - NASA - Inde Motorsports Ranch, Wilcox - $250 for both days or $150 each day - this event also has a $100 drift practice day on Sunday

NOVEMBER

1st and 2nd Saturday and Sunday - Pro Autosports - Wild Horse Pass West - $250 for both days or $150 for each day

8th Saturday - Porsche Club of America (AZ86 invitation with Ferrari, BMW and Audi clubs. Contact @kavanagh) - Wild Horse Pass West - $150

15th Saturday - Pro Autosports - Arizona Motorsports Park - $150

28th-30th Friday, Saturday and Sunday - Pro Autosports - Wild Horse Pass East - I don't have pricing for this yet since it's the whole Thanksgiving weekend including Friday. My guess would be $350 for all three days, $250 for two and $150 for one.

DECEMBER

13th Saturday - Pro Autosports - Wild Horse Pass West - I don't have pricing, but probably $150

I have my own helmet, but would like at least one run with an instructor. What are the DE classes?

Great! I'll update when I'm not mobile.

DE1 means you've never been on a track, and DE4 means you're basically a race car driver. DE2 means you've done a day or two and DE3 means your kind of a regular but not an uber racer yet.

Sounds great. I'm mobile for a while. If you want to start one, go for it, or I can tomorrow.

I've never tracked anything but up and down some mountains a few times.
I've been a professional driver and avid off-roader or more years than I can remember. I know how to drive and would love some instruction.

Money sucks for us, the wife is still out of work. More than likely I can't afford what this might cost, but I really want to do it. Please keep me informed.
