Shopping for a track helmet in the GTA

Anyone have any recommendations for shops in the GTA (ideally Scarborough, North York, Markham) to try out helmets for fit? Having a variety of brands would be a plus since I know different brands tend to fit differently.

There are some places I know off hand where you can try helmets for sure: JRP, Braidanmotorsports, and over at mosport at the karting centre.

GPbikes suggestion is okay if you intend on getting an M rated helmet, but if whoever you running with wants an SA rated helmet, GPbikes for the most part won’t carry anything like that unless the odd bike helmet has the SA rating.

Also there is an anomaly between some helmets you may want to look out for, personally I have an Arai GP7, love the helmet and fits my head well in a size large. I tried on an Arai contour X (bike helmet) just out of curiosity, I grabbed the large.. and well it was massive on my head. So my only warning to you is just because the brand is the same between car/kart/bike helmets, they may not at all fit the same. Bell is another brand that does both, so just keep that in mind.

They have a lot more in stock and are very knowledgeable about fitment and ratings.

Nice I did not know about these guys. They appear to carry the staple brands Arai, Bell, stilo.

For those in the London area, I visited Performance Unlimited for the first time yesterday and saw a small selection of brain buckets on display. Owner Barry Trap was very cordial in helping with my Hotchkis Suspension inquiry. Unfortunately, for those out of town or working stiffs, his business card shows only weekday/evening hours. Closed Sat. and Sun.
Note: not recommended but I still use my ‘80’s glorious green snowmobile helmet. No significant ratings. Thus far (~7 years) TMP and GBM have not questioned it. I suspect CTMP may.

That’ll be me in 50 years not wanting to give up my Arai, although helmet tech from the 80s to now is quite a bit different lol
