I can't believe how composed this car is, didn't get fussy at all. Looking forward to driving it.

I ... wasn't getting uppity?

No idea how that came across. I specifically said several times between the two posts that I'm GLAD Mazda isn't the only one doing it now. I heartily applaud it!

It's just humorous (in a good way) the number of people that are finally waking up to the sheer pleasure these kinds of cars can give you.

To anyone who thinks the power ratings of the 86/FR-S/etc are underwhelming, I think this screenshot of one of the Ken Gushi videos pretty much explains my point of view. This bloke is used to driving high HP drift machines, and to see that expression on his face... yeah.

The Club title here will be so long with all the added other cars... haha But I would love to see us grow that big it might be fun. Never been part of a really big car club with more then 3K members before. And Ken make this look awesome! can't wait to try one out myself.

Of course it would.

Instead of pampering the throttle with blip inputs (like he was doing) in the mid-high range, he'd instead just be smashing the throttle to keep the revs more in the high segment where it would need to be to lose traction at the tires. Granted his initiation would definitely be different, but to say it couldn't slide around corners like that in the dry is...well, just you -still- complaining that its only 200hp.

One of the reasons you fall in love with an AE86 while drifting. In the wet its a fun car to just toss around. In the dry, its balls-to-the wall full commitment. No half-assing if you wanna connect slides, not like cars that actually have power and 'cheat' your way into a slide.

Odd amount of tire noise for a wet track, no? I've slid the tail end out on wet roads a bunch but don't ever recall hearing the tires make such a racket.

Funny - the in car video doesn't look so impressive, but the outside cams show his drift angles and speed better.

So if this is his idea of "not trashing it", I'd hate to see him drive it more intensely! How long will the car last under such abuse? Pulling the hand brake while throwing in the clutch pedal then dumping the clutch out only to repeat that a few times in 2 seconds... yikes! I can see a bunch of new owners back at the dealership for warranty issues with their transmission, clutch, hard brake, etc if they think this car can be driven like this often. Insurance? Will have to wait and see how this is rated.

You know a car is fun to drive if you're smiling and giggling like an idiot in it.

Can't really tell what things actually sound like in a video :/ Microphones vary a TON.
