Hard to find is one thing. Having no way of knowing if they'll ever be able to sell me a car after being one of the first people to put my name on the "list" when it opened is an example of a poorly run business that turns prospective customers into haters. That was the point of my post. Toyota has managed to make me a person who will never buy a Toyota.

Their inability to provide any kind of ETA or even a promise that at some point it will be delivered is the example that their system is broken.

This isn't unique to Toyota. Even the OEMs that give you a date are likely wrong. You think this is bad, try the EV market sometime. Even the all mighty Tesla struggles with delivery dates.

First few GRs arrived in USA/Canada late Nov and into Dec 2021. Wasn't many. Then more trickled in through Jan/feb/march. Majority arrived april-june.

Canadian dealers wereable to place requests Aug 1st 2021.

just fyi

i dont know how anyone can realistically stay on track with the 2030+ ICE phaseouts with all these shortages and backlogs still happening.

Everything's delayed by about 2 or so years, so the ICE phaseouts should also be delayed by that same 2 or so years.

The sales numbers are a matter of record and easily found with a 30 second search. There were not a pile sold in 20121 but they were indeed sold.

They sell many more cars than Tacoma's and Rav4s and have dedicated buyers that will buy nothing but Toyotas. The "enthusiasts" you speak of make up under 1% of their sales.

Neither can almost any manufacturer right now. Do you live in a cave or just disbelieve all the news?

First production (for North America), according to Toyota documentation, was November 11th, 2021. Japan had them on dealer lots well ahead of us.

Earliest photographic evidence I've personally seen on a non-mfg plated car is Jan 10th, 2022.

I'd heard the BRZ got out ahead of the 86, but wasn't sure. Personally I saw a BRZ at the local dealer, and even one around my neighborhood well before I ever saw an 86 in person. Since I ordered my car in March of last year I've only seen one GR86 on the roads... a Neptune on the 640 a few times (before winter arrived), as well as 2 at dealers.

Also, saw this article this aft: https://driving.ca/column/driving-by...es-canada-2022

713 GR86s sold in Canada in 2022. (838% increase over 2021, meaning about 75 sold in '21)
632 BRZ sold in Canada in 2022. (42% increase over 2021, meaning about 450 sold in '21)

I saw only one and it was at 640/40 toyota in the lot with the wraping on it still. Saw it when driving on the 40 the morning.

Never saw any GR or BRZ on the road... I feel lonely ...

Dealer texted me today that my 10AE is in “Freight Status” and should be here by 2/15. Getting nervous about them trying to tack on a $5,000 markup even though I was told MSRP when I ordered it.

At some point soon, you'll get an ETA range like "from Feb 10th to Feb 20th." Once you're within a week or so of the "from" date, tell your salesman its time to sit down and iron out the numbers. Better to find out sooner than later.

I thought I saw in one of the Facebook pages a dealer with an auto 10AE they will be selling at MSRP. But with their doc fee, it still puts the car at nearly $38k.

Which, it just bonkers.

Do a CTRL-R to refresh and record the incoming data. Scroll the left pane to where you see two items starting with your VIN. Select the preview tab.
Does this still work?
