I'd just like to know why people would buy a small, cheap, and lightweight sports car and then wish it was quieter?
Isn't that some kind of oxymoron? The only way to make a car quiet is through materials that add WEIGHT which directly contradicts what this car was made to do. I guess I just don't expect people to purchase something like a car without doing their research (or having a general clue of what they are getting) first. |

It only took 35 pounds of goods (Fatmat and AMT 25) to make my car considerably quieter, double wrapped the doors and floor, single wrapped the trunk. It's not as noticeable from the road noise as it is parked alongside the road where it is very quiet and I can have a cell phone conversation while traffic zooms by. I still race the car; the added weight doesn't really affect performance more than .02 seconds and I can talk with my passengers without shouting. I've also lightened it in other ways (wheels, driveshaft, helium).
Just kidding about the Helium |

I just want the door panels to be stiffer. With the stereo on "feel" and the volume at about "28", certain songs vibrate the crap out of the door panels. The rest of the car needs nothing as far as I'm concerned.

Double bonus of less weight and noise. Maybe some peoples cars are louder than others. I have a Perrin non resonated catback (which is pretty loud) and I have no trouble with noise. I can listen to the radio/CD player with the sound set to 25 (first gen BeSpoke system) and I listen to audio books on the way to and from work everyday. |

I would have prefered another 100lbs of insulation, no one would really notice that and it would make the car SOOOO much more enjoyable to, you know...actually live with.
Anyone who's making a serious track car is stripping out the weight anyway.

Im fine with the car as it is now, I can take care of any rattling or noise issues that bother me, and I think most owners will. The car was built to be changed and modified. Anybody who has a problem with any noises and doesn't know what to do about it should have bought a different car. Those are probably the same people who complain that it doesn't have enough power or about how much they don't like the oem wheels and tires.
They need a disclaimer on the cars when they sell them, heres a great car. It has some minor issues, accept it as it is, or finish it how you like. |

I had the same problem, but in mine it was the window buttons that were the actual source of the rattle. I didnt want to waste a few days of my time to have Toyota fix it so I made little shims out of some wax paper and tucked them in between the button and the edge of the cutout and it worked like a charm.
