It's nice but being in texas I gotta have all a/c vents operational lol.

Another mod I've been checking into is changing the speedo/tach. Maybe something with different backlighting.

Just ordered some led's for lighting up the footwells. Multicolor and with a remote. Kind of scared to take the panels apart on this car though. They seem too tight to just start tearing it apart like I've always done in the past.

They're super easy. Check the DIY video for Tom's tail lights. You have to change the relay, which requires removing some panels from the driver's side dash - it's super simple.

No kidding... I had to pull so hard on the door panels to remove them I was sure I was going to break something and I'd had the car less than a week at that point.

Tom's Tails is an easy easy easy install. You can't possibly break anything unless you cut all sorts of wires.

I'm an RV technician so wiring and electrical is my forte, but working on my own stuff is always scarier than someone else's lol.

Anyone running FI yet? I've heard a lot of horror stories already...

I will be soon. Key is not to overdo it, and to do it right with good supporting mods and safely. This car can be extremely fast and fun at 300 whp. More than that, you're risking a lot.

Figured I'd stop lurking... I picked up a new 2014 BRZ Limited in dark grey about a week ago. It's been all smiles here, although I think the car has a date with a whole bunch of sound deadening in the near future. I'm in Central Austin (near Hyde Park/Cherrywood).

Welcome to the club! Check out Lime Creek Rd or 1431 out west of 183 for a taste of what this car was meant to do.

Spicewood (the part west of 360) is also legit if you want somewhere short and close by!

Thanks! I stumbled on Lime Creek in my Mazda3 (hey, you can do a lot with a reasonably light car, MT, and 150hp)... I've been meaning to wander back out there with the BRZ.

I've never been on Spicewood west of 360 but I've seen it from the downhill portion east of 360 - looks fantastic. I work up that way so I wonder if the roads are quiet at mid-day hours.......

well, today I noticed my 4th gear grinding pretty bad at high RPMs. Only 5.5-7k shifts.

Could replicate every time. Even when in neutral and rev it high, then shift into 4th, it grinds. awful, awful sound.

Not going to bother installing the bushing today to avoid any implications at the dealership. Time to take it in I guess.

warranty FTW?

ps anyone have a good dealership here in austin to go to for warranty repairs? I've been to charles maund and they were awful. Slow, ignorant people working there IMO
