Jdl uel, invidia over pipe, invidia down pipe and a q300, and a trd intake is less then $3000. Even with a pro tune is still less then $4k. Those stickers must be worth $1000 .

For all the people impressed by names, and thinking certain brand is worth overpaying, know that you can get a full header back exhaust, hand made, V-band connections, high quality SS 304, ridiculous welds, for less than $1,500 by going with a local proven and reputable shop.

I got mine, full 3 inch (I'm turbo which quiets it more but even compared to 2.5 turbo cars..) and people can't believe it is 3 inch. It's quieter at idle than a 2.5 axleback, by far. Cruising is almost stock like sound. of course all of this is because I wanted it quiet but it can also be made as loud as you want too.

Regarding the tune, there are a few competent tuners out there, top choice @jamesm who doesn't compromise driveability with making power, they both go hand by hand for him......

If you have money to throw away and getting parts with X name is the most important factor in your purchase, go for it....

But the package does not offer any performance/reliability/quality benefit over a setup you can piece together.

I agree with your sentiments. Piecing together using nameless parts saves about 600-1000. The only things can't be pieced together are their tune and the badge/plaques. No idea if that is really worth the extra over nameless which people are forgetting are one of the most expensive of the lot in the first place. Cosworth stuff goes up in value historically from what I've seen so maybe there is some merit with that.

However, some stuff does price extremely high due to the engineering in R&D, I wonder why F1 is so expensive, maybe a reputable shop could build exhaust for them too for less than $1500? Is nameless too expensive as well?

I would think the header and tune would account for 80 p ercent of gains. Cat back Imo and intake are minimal. Imo you're paying for warranty.

Of course they are exaggerating gains and just adding their numbers to manufacturers crank numbers.

Has anyone asked Nameless if this will interfere with production/delivery of their regular products? I'm guessing it will, and I'm guessing the Cosworth contract will take precedence for some time...

And that 1500 dollar job also includes years of engineers working on performance and balance? Or just some guy that wants more power?

if you think years of "engineers working on performance and balance" will make any noticeable difference on a headerback exhaust, I've got a few unicorns to sell to you.

Haha, I do believe it actually will make a difference, most engineers I know are anal like that plus it's boring to do the same thing everytime for them without using some brains. Whether people will know/feel it is another matter though.
The unicorn part is funny!

Hahaha. I agree with you. That's why I said any "noticeable" difference. I can understand a header design can be made noticeably different with years of research. But the exhaust from headerback. ..... Aside from making changes to make it sound different, powerwise there's not much to do and not many ways to route it differently.

They could have made it with light weight material which would have made this a real "Cosworth" grade product.
Tomei is definitely paving the way there.

I am curious what Cosworth did with their tunes. If their tunes were done in a test cell with an AC dyno, that would be worth the extra money to me.
