Fuck i know hey... He got off way easy but the demerits from it might hurt. I got a $352 one for doing 90km pass cop on side of road instead of 60km, guy infront was doing 110km, we both got pulled. I rather pay 500 and get to test the car to 221 then pay 352 for slowing down 20km passing the cop (not slow nuff)

Honestly, I agree with one of the commenters on there. I'd rather be on the road with someone doing 221kph who is actually focused on driving, then hordes of soccer moms texting or elderly gentlemen weaving and doing 5 under. Fast isn't nearly as dangerous as distracted can be.

You are so terrible incorrect it is boarding on mental.

220 on roads that are engineered for 100km or less is VERY dangerous.

I am going to swear here, so mind my language, but fucking christ. No one should support this, it is a public road and NOT engineered/designed for that speed.

To add to this, our breaks are not capable of stopping the car fast enough on the stock tires. Many people complain about cooking their breaks on the track going much lower speeds. This is dumb.

Calm your horses. Firstly people are saying that because the dude got away with it.. A 500$ ticket is a joke for that kind of speed. There should a 1 year licence suspension and at least a 2000 ticket for that stunt.
Second every road is engineered to handle alot more speed and load than what's posted on the sign. Speed limits are only in effect to better traffic flow and to improve road traffic safety.

I'm with you.
Distractions are what cause accidents not speed. Well at least not all the time.

Good driver or not, 220KM is just asking for an accident. Doesn't give much reaction time if a deer runs out in front of you or all the other countless shit that can go wrong.

Now 200KM is perfectly safe. Just kidding. Keep it for the autobahn imo. :P You'll live longer that way!

220 might be a little excessive, but, a good number of our nation's highways are designed for 130. Check this site out:

I'm not saying it's a good idea - obviously, that's incredibly dangerous and I don't even think the stock tires are rated for that speed. My point is that distracted driving causes more accidents than fast driving, and I believe that should be more focused on in terms of penalty.

I have no idea why he would rather go for high speed run when there are much better twist roads with lots of elevation changes on van island
