Got my new FR-S today.
Picked up my new 6 speed manual white FR-S today! I absolutely love it. I've had a chance to drive a couple autos and one other manual, so it wasn't a question of if I wanted it, it was a matter of trying to find one that was unsold. I called every dealer I could find that got a manual, and as luck would have it I found one that had a deal fall through.
17 miles on the odometer when I got it, over 100 now, and a little rubber in teh wheel wells. I'm VERY impressed by how easy it is to slide the thing around with the nannies turned off, but at the same time how much grip it has when you are just driving hard through a corner. I currently own a 200 spyder and a 2000 Celica GTS, and have had a very nice 90 alltrac, 89 MR2, etc. and what I don't own I have driven a bunch of. (except the 2000GT and 800 Sport). I own a performance shop, so that is not just whistling dixie either. This is by far the best handling Toyota I have driven. In terms of absolute lateral Gs the MRS can probably give it a run for its money, but they are WAY less predictable at the limits. Love the car - can't wait to dyno it tomorrow and get some pictures posted. (I had intended to get some taken today, but wound up having too much fun driving instead). Oh - and a huge Kudos to the guys at Ft. Bend Toyota for a fantastic and painless buying experience. Bibin Thomas was super easy to work with and did a great job making everything roll along smoothly. |

Nice, congrats man! I just picked mine up tonight. Did a really small run through the passes here. I have to agree, the handling in it is just so fun.

So do you work at Hennessey in Sealy?
I only ask because I grew up in Rosenberg and had a chance to see their shop last summer. The car looks fantastic btw.

My dyno is way nicer than Hennesy's though. I have the brand new Dynojet 424xLC2 with the linx system. In ground 4WD dyno with additional 2000 ft lb eddy brakes on both rollers for load testing, and also the new linx system to keep the wheelspeed equalized on cars with viscous center couplings or invasive traction control that can't be turned off. |

Congrats! I just picked mine up the other day. I wonder if the break in period of keeping it under 4k RPM for the first 1000 miles should be strictly adhered to. That's difficult to do with this car considering where red-line is.

And of course I am going to stick to the manufacturer's reccomended break in.... As per manual I will only exceed 4K if its an emergency. Like an emergency burnout, an emergency drift, I need to pass someone, Its Very very Wednesday.... Things like that |

Congrats!
Love the white, but I'm getting black. Yin and yang. Lol I'm jealous, mine is still at sea.

White is a better (more practical) choice here anyway. We have long hot summers and that Scroll type AC compressor doesn't look very large.... |

Congrats, I'm in the same boat. I have been looking for a Hot Lava / Manual and can't find one anywhere in FL. My local dealership wanted to sell me their Hot Lava Auto but like I told the sales guy. I have waited for this car to come out for 3 years now, I refuse to settle. I'll just wait till I can get what I want.

I can't have a Hot Lava, Red, or blue car though. Waaaay too attention getting - I got enough tickets in my younger days - I try to stay under the radar now (Pun intended) |
