Just to further my confusion, I received this reply from Toyota Canada re: the interior colours of the new GR86 Hakone Edition. If you check out the website in this reply you’ll see the same black and red that I showed in my above post.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your recent correspondence, as well as for your interest in the 2025 GR86 Hakone edition MT!

We are pleased to let you know that our 2025 GR86 Hakone edition comes exclusively with a black interior with tan accents:

https://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/build-price/gr86

You may learn more about the features and specifications of the new 2025 GR86 Hakone Edition on our website, here:

https://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/vehicles/gr86/overview

We kindly suggest contacting the sales team at your preferred Toyota dealership. As experts in our products, they would be able to advise you regarding ordering, waitlists or pricing.

If you need help finding a Toyota dealership, in the upper right corner of our website, www.toyota.ca, there is a Dealer locator with which you can search for one by postal code, city, province, or name.

We are pleased to learn of your interest in our products and we thank you once again for taking the time to write.

Sincerely,

Dawn Penner

Please, will some of you checkout the Toyota Canada website listed in this reply and verify what colour interior the photos show.
As you can read she is insisting that its black and tan but my screen still shows black and red.

Dear Sir,

Thank you kindly for your reply.

Our website, toyota.ca, features several imaged of the 2025 GR86 Hakone Edition, including images of the interior, as can be seen here:

https://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/build-price/gr86

In each of the images, as well the descriptions of the interior, the interior is black with tan accented in tan (piping).

We hope that this offers some clarification, and we thank you for taking the time to write us and providing us the opportunity to comment.

Sincerely,

Dawn Penner

When I do the build and price on that website, it shows the black and tan interior on three of the pics and an all black interior on one of them.

This model is black and tan inside - that's just part of the package regardless of what the website shows. Were you to create a purchase order, it should also show something like "Interior: Black and Tan". If somehow it showed up differently, you'd have grounds to back out/refuse.

It does seem like they just haven't gotten their act together on the Canadian website though, because the US website definitely specifies Black Ultrasuade w/Tan leather.

Hmmmmm.... What you show doesn't look like the US site shows

And my eyes see red on my screen.

Wait - are you saying the picture you posted above shows red trim on the seats?

Because that is brown.

Honest question, do you suffer from color blindness? Because mistaking certain browns for red (and vice versa) is a symptom.

The photo you are showing is the black and tan which is on the US website. The image that is on the Canadian website, the tiny little interior shot you see in Dake’s post and that I reposted looks nothing like it. To my eyes it looks black and red.
See the two images below and tell me they are the same.

They are the same, tan and black as are your earlier posts. Here's a screen capture of your link above.

Sorry, I guess I'm just blind. I see the US car with a light buckskin accent and the Canadian car with a much darker, redder accent. So, maybe it's not red but my eyes tell me that they are very different colours.

Red is the seat belt release buttons.

Light source direction and temperature vary significantly between the shots.

The difference is the lighting in the "photo". They are both very brown. The US one looks like it's under a spotlight in a convertible, the Canadian one is darker, like taken inside an unlit car. Frankly I prefer the Canadian one, but it is no where close to red.

Well, I’m colour deficient in the red & green spectrums so there’s that. Plus, the two interiors are not the same. See the back of the head rests for example. The Canadian car has only the front in black with the rest covered in the accent colour. Whereas the US car has both front and back of the head rest covered in black.
What struck me were all the differences in the two seeing as they will only make one model for North America. I cannot see them making such a small run for the Canadian market, (36 I believe) with such differences. Why would the two websites show different photos? Wouldn’t they both get the images from the same source?
As always, these are preproduction shots to hype the new model. We’ll have to wait to see what actually arrives in the showrooms.

Didn't even notice the difference in the headrests, I was focused solely on the color. These are likely computer-generated shots and not real cars, so there is that.

I think the main difference between the browns is the one is leather accents while the other is cloth which would certainly explain the tonal differences.

Not sure which interior you think is fabric because they both look like leather to me. Plus, the US website says it's tan leather and stitching.
