The one in the photo looks like it should have a big star on the door and a staff flag flying on it. You know, like this....
Heck, I might prefer to have this one.

Toyota.com has updated the website with official pricing!
Now here's hoping the graft doesn't get too high. I reached out to a couple of dealers (in Texas) and they say their internal system still doesn't show anything about being able to order. Last edited by Dake; 10-07-2024 at 10:52 PM. |

Searching inventory on the Toyota site there are a few Hakone allocations out there now, estimated delivery in December for the ones I can see.

It’s listed on the Toyota Canada website for $41,705.08 before options, taxes etc. On the US Toyota website it’s $35,270. (With today’s exchange rate that makes the US Hakone $48,289.74 CAD. Or going the other way, that makes the US price $31,457.22 in Canadian funds.)
One BIG, I mean HUGE difference. The US site shows and states the interior is black and tan. The Canadian site shows black and RED! Plus, there is no description. Not being the metallic green like the Gen 1 version was hard to take. But, if the Canadian cars come with that red well, it’s just a bridge too far!

Well, at least you'll be ready for the Christmas parade! That combo is not just a bridge too far, it may be a planet too far.

I do wish the green wasn't quite so flat, but it's not bad.
As far as "flat but still got some shine" british racing green's go, this special edition MINI from I think 2009 absolutely nailed it. - Andrew Last edited by Racecomp Engineering; 10-11-2024 at 03:03 PM. |

Well, I put in a refundable $1000 deposit with a written guarantee of MSRP. The GM of the dealer claims it will lock in the allotment for their location. We'll see what happens.
It's kind of crazy that it's within less than $2k of what I paid for my FRS back in 2012 when adjusted for inflation. |

They wouldn't budge of the price. Saw the car a year later and the guy ended up getting it at MSRP, lucky dog! |

My understanding is that something went down in a thread that I was not following. Tcoat was either given a timeout and decided to not return or left on his own. Either way he hasn’t posted in over a year. Perhaps I’m taking this too personally but to me that was a FU to the rest of us who did enjoy his input even if we didn’t agree on some issues. At least one member on here along with his spouse is still in contact with Tcoat and his Mrs. Perhaps he’ll chime in. Quote:
My grandson is very much enjoying my 2018 tS which celebrated it's 6th Birthday last month.

I for one couldn't stand that guy.
The reason the "ignore" feature was created. |
