What did you do to your GR86 (Gen 2) today?

Replaced exhaust tips with Japanese version.

Very interesting. Which one is the Japanese one? Smaller or taller?

Taller one is the Japanese version. Part number is SU003-01126. Roughly $100 to $125 on ebay for the pair.

I think the USDM muffler is still different than the JDM/EDM muffler. You can see the muffler tip still extends farther out.

I don't know if any of you heard of this but I saw once an FRS with the rear bumper on fire at the track and I also melted a bumper on a MX5 because of tips too inwards, I find the US version risky vs the JDM ones.

I have no desire to drill 4 holes to mount the front license that the instruction calls for. Gorilla double sided taped it instead.

Thanks for sharing this mod! Wish I knew about that when I had my 2017 BRZ, as it had the same recessed exhaust tips, and it was really annoying. Might have to get these extended ones for my GR86.

Congrats! I’m assuming that’s the Steel color. I have the same one coming hopefully early Feb. I specifically asked my dealer not to put on the front bracket.
I like what you did there. Did you ask the dealer for that bracket? Or did you just get an aftermarket one?
