A quick look shows that if my wife's Ascent was stolen she could replace it easily out of what the dealers show as "in stock". If my car was stolen I could either get a new Supra (decently priced actually) or a Miata locally. For anything else new I would need to start to look much further away or buy used. Not a hope in hell I would pay as much for a 4 year old base 86 as I paid for my brand new Hakone but that is what they are asking for some.

Ordered first of Nov. Hoping for a May 1 delivery. Dealer said maybe July. Will be interesting to see how long this takes. Sold them my trade in already.

End up taking the money out without the 12% gain on tax. I waited more than 6 month. I hope your luck is better than mine! |

I took the cash. Better in my account than theirs. Will buy it when available. play the market with my cash till then. Don't need another car. I can wait.
Will be curious if it will be a little quicker here. Not a real popular car here. Can only drive it 6 months of the year. |

Why? Your winters aren't that much worse than ours.

They don't plow the side streets here. After a couple of storms, the snow is so built up and rutted the car drags on the ridges, especially the nose. I can't get to my house in winter. I like keeping my car as pristine as possible. Don't want to expose it to the chemicals and crap on the roads in winter. Have a truck for that.

Just as long as its not TOO deep...... One of those judgement calls. Guess it also depends on where you live and how bad the unplowed roads are to get to the main plowed roads. <-drives it 12 months a year. |

Mine'll be a 12 month car too...
A nice set of Sparco Terras wrapped in Conti Vikings will do nicely. |

Maybe I'm just a skeptic, but I think any dealer giving you a date is either blindly optimistic, or blowing smoke.
I put my order in on March 17th. My guy was brutally honest... "I have no idea when you'll get the car". Touched base with him last week, wondering whether I should order winter tires and wheels or not... still has no answer for me. |
