Yeah those people piss me off. I've seen so many accidents and countless near misses due to slugs in the center lane. So much so that anymore I pretty much just roll in the left lane until someone faster than me comes up then I move for a minute to let them by. The middle lane is a scary mixing bowl kind of place anyway and you have to watch both sides for people making stupid moves, if you're in the left lane you can usually just roll along and only have to pay attention front and back rather than from all four sides.

Well, I took my FR-S out this evening for a run up to the Italian restaurant to get some carry out. Just as I was exiting the subdivision at a T, onto a two lane, twisty, tree lined, double yellow line in the center, 25 MPH road, this jackass roared up behind me.

Since my engine was cold, I just sped up a little bit to give the jerk some room. Well, I reckon he thought I wanted to race, so he laid on the gas and passed me on a curve, going about 60 mph, with a stop sign about 50 yards beyond the curve.

Just for a brief moment the thought entered my mind to step on the gas, knowing he wouldn't be able to stick on the curve at those speeds ...... just to see if he would try .... and either slide off the road or blow through the stop sign, crashing on the other side.

Well, I just backed off the gas and he roared around me ...... in a minivan.....

In a way my ego was bruised, however, as I pulled up to the take-out door of the restaurant, this very attractive lady with short silver hair and tight jeans said my car was very nice and asked what kind it was. That repaired my ego.

I just knew she wanted to take a ride in my FR-S, go back to her place, see what would happen ......however, I escaped that cougar ..... this time .....

I did not crash.

Have now owned the 86 for 40 days.

Been driving it to work, where I get out and Mrs noodlefish then drives to her work. She has not crashed, and neither have I.

I had a close one yesterday. On the way home from work, up over a little rise and traffic stopped on the highway. We were all going 60 and it just stopped. I follow pretty far behind the person in front of me, and the one in back of me luckily was not on my ass. But she had to do a semi-emergency stop and I saw her eyes in the rear view- she was panicked.

Small emergency lane to run into so bailing was not an option. Phew I'm glad she was on her toes.
