The 860 was nothing like the Crosstrek color. The 860 is a weird salmon orange.

That was the Crosstrek color. They should have used it on the BRZ, too. If they had, I'd be driving one.

Funny. As I was typing this, an orange Crosstrek drove by the barber shop window.

Except the BRZ is not a Toyota, so Toyota's lineup wouldn't affect how a BRZ is marketed.

Really like the interior and wheels. The green not so much...too bright metallic looking.

Love the seats, not too excited about the exterior color though. Those seats would look great in a dark grey, black, or white 86.

On track with the Crosstrek colors though. I’d say whatever new color it comes in for 2020 will be the new Series.Color for 2020.
Forgot about the 860. Didn't know about the STi thought so makes sense.

I've talked about this with some of my friends. It's probably due time for a "dark" Series.______ again. Most special editions in the past years have been pretty light color schemes (Series.HyperBlue - Hyper Blue, Series.Yellow - Charlesite Yellow, S208 - Sunrise Yellow [Crosstrek yellow], Series.Gray - Cool Gray Khaki). There really hasn't been anything with an available darker palette since the original Series.Blue.

There also were some (very) small rumors on NASIOC about a potential Series.White that would introduce a new white color (Ceramic White). It sounds lightly intriguing, but also a bit lazy. Unless they were to do something wild with the interior. Going a little broader, I wonder if the 2020 Series._____ would be BRZ-only, seeing as the WRX line will have the S209 for the upcoming model year.

Until they release a "Final Edition".

I do get the gist of your whining LOL but here is another perspective. The twins were designed purposefully leaving some performance on the table , opening the door to many aftermarket vendors.
Although not on the power end of things, Toyota and Subaru have launched so many different special/upgraded models on this vehicle that they too in fact have contributed to the customization factor. Think about it, with the relative numbers produced, many/most special edition owners don't spot the same vehicle locally. So, you have factory OEM quality cosmetic modifications packaged with upgraded HVAC etc. I think it's a great and unique way to offer a vehicle and more effort/trouble for the manufacturers yet they do it for a reasonable cost. You don't like? How about BRZ TS + JRSC + oil cooler= Done!

I read a rumor a couple weeks back of a "Series.White" (non-metallic, flat white) paint color for the 2020 WRX and STI but I'm not sure how reliable that is, so take it with a grain of salt.

Series.Tan

What happened to all the tan / beige cars of the '80's early '90's ? True desert camo. I predict in the coming 3-5 years there will be a return back to tan / beige colored cars /trucks (maybe vans).

Lol, not whining at all.. just asking about the life of this platform given that we haven’t even seen a test mule etc.. I don’t see a next gen for at least another 5-6yrs going by how slowly Toyota works with sports cars. Would they continue to sell this car till then or will it have a break for few years before returning?

There is precedence. The MKII MR2 was in production for 10 years (89-99). We just passed 7 years of production for the 86.

Touche! But it would be great way for Subaru to troll their Toyota brethren!

To be honest, I always wanted a dark brown metallic BRZ with some bronze rims... Kinda like this Honda color:
