I really dig that 1800 ES with a 289 under the hood. I remember an orange one in my neighbourhood in the mid-seventies. They might not have been the sportiest, but they were a cool Guigaro design and premium quality. I never knew I liked Volvos until I traded my STI for one on a whim. Way back in my head I always remembered the serene environment while sitting in a Volvo S60 every year at the Toronto Auto Show.
I think that's an Austin Healy 100 (not sure of variant) chassis on the dolley. I had the priviledge of taking a few spins in my brother-in-law's meticulous '55 100M with Lemans package a few months ago in Scottsdale. His latest is a '68 E Type coupe, which is here in town. That one is 100% restored and modded, with Jenvey ITB's and fuel injection.

Drove an MGB GT for over 40 years. Loved the style but never fell in love with the lack of power; hence the Volvo 1800ES on a Miata chassis with a Ford 302/T5 combo. |
