That’s a bummer. Sometimes people have a hard time letting go. My friends mom is the only one taking care of her dad out of all the siblings and he is an asshole to her. He is very chauvinistic, doesn’t care to see his grand daughter or great granddaughter. Talks up his son and grandson even though they are complete fuckups.

If I'm getting a 3000GT, it'll have to be a 1999 VR-4. Not really sure if there were any differences between that MY and the prior years aside from aesthetics tho.

$60k for a motor that spins the wrong way, and has been sitting over 20 years?

Just have a seal kit ready. I loved the first gen red ones. Never got to drive one but I remember the feel of not fitting.

my concern after all of my rotting ranger issues is ALL of the rubber, not just a few seals. my truck is literally rotting out from the bottom up, but the exterior looks pristine. the front core support has made the transition to supporting the radiator with magic. and the upper coolant hose. but it's only got 99k miles!

94 had a pretty big change with a 6speed and engine rework... 99 not so much. Front Bumper, headlights and the big 'combat wing' aside, the 99 lost all the lower body active aero. The older I get the more I like the older aero
s look. More like an old exotic and less like a 90's catfish.

Same. I have a distinct memory of riding shotgun through the dealer lot to get a bright red one... only for my mom to then drive past it to watch her buy a Lincoln MkVIII off the lot next door.

The older I get the more I think about it sometimes. I remember all the fins on that bright red first gen and thinking it looked like a Ferrari Testarossa.

So... like every car I've bought ever.

Did the US get the active aero? I'm not a fan of huge wings, but for some reason, I think it worked well with the GTO's design (the squared off one from the '99 and up).

The 3kgt phased out the popups in '93, the active exhaust in '95, the active aero in '96. All models retained the electronic suspension.
