Vastly-prefer how Toyota's front-end handles the space for the front license plate.

If that front bumper is considered bland and boring, I'd like to see what folks think is aggressive. The BRZ has the smiley feminine grille with pear shaped side intakes vs this having the meaner grille with sleeker side air intakes.

You take that back right now!
I think they all look good, and there is enough to differentiate them. I know Iím biased, but I donít feel like the twins get enough praise for being really good looking cars with near perfect proportions. I was kind of annoyed when Doug Demuro gave the Subaru BRZ tS a Ď6í on his styling score. 6?! Really??! A small, sexy coupe gets a 6, wow. Maybe he deducted for the wing. I think he is great, but he couldnít be wronger on that one.

I'll take back some of it and say that the twins live in a vacuum without any competitor. So even if it is ugly or offensive, I can't point to anything else that is doing it better, aesthetically speaking. Like, I think the new Kia K5 is the best-looking sedan and the Camry is the ugliest. But if only the Camry existed, well, I don't like the design but it is still the best. So even if the 2022 BRZ isn't my preference, it is still a silver medal winner and I would be happy to have it. If that makes sense...

On Doug, yea, I might have given the Ts a 9 or 10.

GR86 nose is so much better than the BRZ one. The situation from the first gen (where the BRZ had the better looking nose) has been reversed!

I agree that the twins exist almost in a class of 1. But I still think we can say they are good looking cars despite no direct competition. The Miata, Audi TT, and maybe 370Z are similar in size/layout. But those are a convertible, a much more expensive car, and a slightly larger car.

I get what you are saying about the 2nd gen BRZ. I think it will be received very well once people get to walk around them and see them driving in person. Itís similar with the new Supra. Pictures donít do them justice, they look great in person.

Car design is a wacky world. People will always hate certain designs, while others love it. Some designs that look ďcoolĒ now, look very dated later on. Certain brands always seem to figure out what will look good now, and will look good 20 years from now. Aston Martin does that better than anyone (IMO). I absolutely love everything they do. But those are a little out of my price range. Jaguar and Porsche always seem to create timeless designs also. Of the Japanese brands they have each made some incredible looking cars, but there are a lot of misses also. They also make a ton of different models so they all canít be winners. Mazda seems to get it right more often than not. FD RX-7, enough said.

It is wacky, and what is fascinating is that Toyota, hopefully, is swinging back in a direction of pleasing designs. For me, the redesigned Mirari is sexy AF and I hope future models (Camry) adopt a similar design language.

Where has this Toyota been? Why did we ever get this...

Compared to all their previous generation models, all the new generation Toyota's so far are actually quite good looking IMO (maybe a bit overstyled here and there as is the norm for Japanese design)
