It isn't worth that HP loss, but it is worth the good looks. I may end up getting an OEM replica top if I get really competitive.
dat mpg with vtec at 3k rpm is...

and voltexxxxx man I'll be getting one next year for the BRZ

That tire mod factor exists for a reason. I see that hard top going for sale once you get tired of seeing the vettes disappear.

That very well may be the case. I can pick up an OEM style fiberglass hard top really cheap and throw it on for track weekends when I swap out my brake pads. I have thought about swapping trunks as well if I don't want to roll the wing on the street.

When I had a 3" exhaust on my relatively stock S2k, my VTEC engagement point was 3900RPM. Every time I crossed that changeover point, I would go sideways in the rain (3rd and 4th gear). Seriously...S2k has no torque, yet I can go sideways down a whole straight in the rain because VTEC kicked in yo...

Current VTEC point is 5000RPM with just a test pipe + stock exhaust. The J's 70RR VTEC changeover point was around 4200RPM if I recall correctly. Every setup will be a little different.

I look forward to racing at the East Championships next year at VIR. This is why I race SpecE30

That's a good race. My comment was definitely a joke. I am down to help out anytime. As long as the work is worth it. (Unlike the long tube headers install on a 2014 Mustang 5.0 which isn't worth the hassle.)

Wheels have been ordered, and tires will be installed next weekend. Planning to order up the roll bar and remove the OEM soft top along with using the Izzy's brackets to permanently mount my hard top. You wanna help? Probably won't be easy.

No roll cage since it is remaining a street car. The Hard Dog roll bar did arrive last week though. Soft top is going out, roll bar is going in next weekend hopefully. Then brakes, fuel, exhaust, and turbo setup.

Figured it was time for an update and new pics. These were taken by a photog E30 owning BMW tech buddy of mine. They are pretty much what the car looks like now although I just added a 3" HKS exhaust, and I plan to install the CR model clear turn signals and shave the S2000 logo. Recent additions and have been the Hard Dog roll bar and Hondata FlashPro to tune it once the turbo goes in along with completely removing the soft top. Looking to add a Stoptech Trophy front BBK this month and then some more turbo prep parts next month before finally deciding and ordering the turbo kit. Right now the Full-Race twin scroll kit with a BW EFR-7163 turbo is at the top of the list. The car should run its first laps in April.

Since removing the soft top and essentially all the sound deadening behind the front seats it is a noticeably louder driving experience. I still love driving the car though, and I can't wait for some more power.
