While on the east end, I dropped by food basics where there was a good car crowd but few FT86 members. A couple of us headed back to Merivale and again found a decent tame crowd but only one other FT86 member. We then headed to Canadian Tire at Merivale/Hunt Club and found a huge crowd of the FT86 gang. While the city was divided, FT86 was at Merivale/Hunt Club. There are lots of meets going on these days but if you want to meet up with lots of other FT86 members, head to Canadian Tire. |

Multiple people where posting different areas, kind of hard to keep track of what area. I checked the forum, and ended up meeting with a couple people at food basics.. was worth it!

I think the rentacop at M&M was playin us anyway - I doubt any cops actually showed up after we left for CT.
We need to find a decent, well-lit spot not on the extreme ends of the city. I like to drive places, but I hate the poor road conditions on Hunt Club and Riverside and 417. Merivale is bad enough We are getting split up with Facebook groups and peeps just going to random lots expecting everyone to find them. I thought M&M was on since Target pulled out and maybe it is still viable. If you go and buy a coffee at Tim's and don't litter, you have a legitimate right to be there for at least two hours. I don't understand the basis for booting us out if we are respectful of the property. The CR/A&W lot is ok until 10:00 when every damn light goes off - also the property owners aren't replacing light bulbs well as it is. We had multiple cops drive thru the lot and sit in A&W without bugging us. I want to continue meeting up on Friday nights. I'll continue to check out M&M but fall back to CT for now. If anyone has better central spots, tell us. There has to be somewhere.... Thanks for letting me ramble....

Would be great if we keep it like last year, I will try and have the facebook group i created go along with the forum, I apologize if it has added any confusion to the group, I think its a mixture of multiple meets being out as well, summer season is here and the beautiful cars are out! Seasons just starting, I have a feeling its going to be a good one! And Corey, I was rolling with Sylvain, saw a red brz slow down while passing a hoof of trucks, saw it was you and ya gunned it with a laugh, no chance of us getting through the traffic, but you knew that

In for a bunch of meets at the east end. Tired of driving nearly an hour and a half to get to the meets.

There's a Target on St Laurent that could be available.
For what it's worth, I consider this thread to be the "controlled copy" when it comes to meets; I don't pay attention to anything else. |

Could also look at using the future shop on merrivale or south keys area has quite a few places we could meet. Andre's shop is also always an option.

Ya Southkeys shopping center has a massive parking lot and is fairly central in the city.

I'll reiterate what Ken and Craig said. I check this forum for the "definitive" location for the meets, so whatever is decided by the group is where the official meet is.
I'm good with change, so will go wherever and like I said, if you guys want to drop by here for that meet or even as a mid-point, I'm cool with that. Especially if it's a cool or rainy night, we can chat inside away from the elements. I'm on Facebook too, but if we start relying on multiple sources of info for different locations, then it will just end up splitting the group. We used to look forward to massive cars showing up together to catch up with others we may not have seen for a while and to also see a variety of other rides and mods, so let's use the differing media options to our advantage so that everyone is one the same page. On that note, Rideau Carleton Cruise Nights has started up again at RCR. They would love to have us out again like last year, in even bigger numbers. Wednesday nights. It's a nice mix of cars, and less hooligan/more car show. If there is interest, I'll set it up. |
