2022+ Ecu cracked?!

Saw this on the faceballs this morning….

No idea if it’s legit, I can’t find anymore info to back it up.

definitely curious where this goes. i admit, i was somewhat apprehensive that no one was going to crack the 22+ ecu. not because of any technical limitation, but everything to do with the looming EPA crackdowns..

A little background on VFTuner? Checking their facebook seems they have a load of products available for Toyota trucks and stuff.

Would this allow tuning of the automatic transmission? For example, letting it downshift to redline?

it ought to, but 'cracked' could mean any number of things depending on what they want it to mean...

I may not have read up enough on the EPA crackdowns...But wouldn't their main target be the aftermarket parts providers, not individuals?

And if VFTuner and other parts companies are still working on cracking the ECU and/or selling parts like catless headers, turbo kits, etc, then this crackdown is not yet in place, is it?

currently, the EPA is going after diesel tuners and how many of their business models rely on removing emissions equipment. has a lot to do with 'rolling coal'..

flo-pro was hit with a $1.6 million fine over it.
https://www.thedrive.com/news/diesel...defeat-devices

so while they're not doing anything yet with gasoline motors, i strongly feel it's only a matter of time, and all the stupid obnoxious pop tunes, and 'bypass pipes' is not going to help sports cars either.

government organizations need to constantly justify their own existence. they do that by constantly seeking new ways to re-enforce existing rules. when they crack down on diesels, eventually they'll run out of diesels. but they can't just make a public announcement that "we fixeded it, our work here is done!", they move on to the next biggest irritation. the louder and more tuned we make our street-driven sports cars, the larger the target grows on us...

what's most interesting to me in all of this that few sources are talking about is that banks power, which is doing just as much for diesel tuning, is walking away almost scot-free in a lot of ways. though i think their business model is drastically different.
i believe he's done a ton of work with CARB for certification of many of his kits...

Wait, hold up, VFTuner? Isn't that what used to be Orange Virus? Im very leery of them. Basically abandoned and don't have great reviews on a bunch of Mazda Owners, and their reviews on the Tacoma Forums are sort of mixed. ECUTek or bust.

No idea, never heard of VFtuner before I saw this.
My thought is if they have done Ecutek must be close or already tuning and maybe we will here something soon!
