While it would be wonderful to learn that your encouragement got him over the hump., I maintain that the most important thing is the spirit in which we engage our neighbor.
Hope MUST spring eternal. I guess that's why I've never been comfortable blocking anyone.

In a recent post I used language that appeared to advocate violence. I regret doing so and have removed the sentence I found offensive and apologize to anyone who also did so.

A friend of mine was vaccinated. This year he found out he had cancer. He's been undergoing treatments/chemo for the past 2 or so months since he found out.
Today my brother told me he found out this friend was rushed to the hospital last night and has been put on a ventilator. He hasn't heard for sure yet but a cousin of the friend suspects he could've caught COVID (since the chemo weakens the immune system). So, if that ends up being the case, it's just another example for your fuckwads who can't come to terms with getting vaccinated and allowing this shit to continue. It's not a matter of choice where you can be like "it's your decision to get vaccinated, I'll do what I want, you do what you want." Your half-assed, moronic decisions affect everyone, and especially the people who at least attempt to take care of themselves but are unable to because of illnesses outside of their control.

Healthcare worker here.
I have seen someone get cardiac tamponade from mycarditis from the vaccine. Unsure if they died (didn't check up on it because they left my care). I have seen a coworker have a heart attack a few days after the vax from myocarditis. I have seen Guillain Barre from the vaccine. I have had Bell's Palsy twice from vaccines in the past. Bell's Palsy is often a precursor for Guillan Barre. I have caught and recovered from COVID (natural immunity). I have seen a TON of people get sick and some die from COVID. The "its a hoax" crowd is FOS. The "there are no side effects for the vax" are FOS as well. I do think COVID is more dangerous than the vaccine for a LOT/most of people. I do wish they would remove the immunity (lawsuit immunity) for jobs/pharmacy companies/employers. It is sort of weird...if I catch COVID and get really really sick...the government will pay my medical bills and my job is required to pay for any rehab I need etc. If I get Guillan Barre from the vax...my medical bills are on me. Also my job is not required by law to cover my rehab. There are actual reasons to take or not take the vax, but demonizing someone doesn't do anything other than anger people. A lot of us healthcare workers felt like we were marched into machine gun fire this last year, when there was no vax or real effective treatment for COVID. So people need to keep that in mind. It is easy to take an unearned moral highground on this. But there is a reason that a ton of healthcare workers, doctors included who do not want to take this vax. Also the vax doesn't really prevent the spread of COVID as much as advertised or as originally thought. Anyway, civil conversation is the best way to move forward. Sadly, that doesn't seem like much of an option anymore. If anyone wants to ask my about vaccine "hesitance" they can. No need to get mad/angry/offensive/defensive. Not every person who had turned down the vax is a "selfish moron". |

Lets say they weren't tested though. Like say most jobs with vaxxed workers and unvaxxed workers... The unvaxxed workers DO get tested. So you could logically claim that the vaxxed and UNTESTED workers are the superspreaders. You see this with the NFL atm. You would see this with any jobsite btw. The vaccine does help prevent really bad symptoms for sure. But vaccinated people spread it as well. Also, I have another question, "how long has it been since your first/only shot or your second shot?" If you are outside of 90 days, does that make you as much of a "selfish fuckwad moron" as someone who didn't get the shot? Because technically, you are not vaccinated until 14 days after your first/only shot and 14 days after your second shot. And at day 91, you are no longer considered vaccinated. My point is that the goalpost will continue to move. Belittling people doesn't really further your goals. No one gets cursed at and called a "fuckwad moron" and then goes "ya know, he's right...lemme go do exactly what they want me to do". |

Any you would really think that states would flex on people who 100% depend on others for everything? But sadly, they will just fire you for not taking the vax...and then deny you unemployment/benefits. But if you have been on welfare for years...its 100% OK. Super odd. |

OK Atropine, I read your last 3 consecutive posts.
Are you a physician, nurse, nurses aid, specific type of therapist, or what do you do? So, if I am understanding, you are suggesting that you have denied vaccination on the grounds of: 1- possibly causing Bell's palsy 2- possibly causing myocarditis 3- possibly causing Guillaine-Barre syndrome In your case, not knowing what your actual position is as a healthcare worker, I'd say it's your choice if you feel the risk is too high. Resign from your position or accept dismissal. Police, firefighters, military personnel all accept certain risks with their employment. In your particular instance the health authorities in your area are mitigating risk to the overall populus of your workplace with mandating vaccinations. If you feel the risk to YOURSELF is too great, so be it but you know the consequences. I am not entirely sure how you state as "fact" that 90 days past 14 days past your second vaccination you are no longer considered vaccinated. As an example, Alberta is in the throws of an outbreak and had the highest rate of unvaccinated in Canada. Ontario has far fewer infections reported or hospitalizations, with a far bigger population and higher vaccination rate. Expect to receive some derision. Most will see it as selfishness that you would choose to continue working as opposed to stepping up and accepting that as an unvaccinated individual, you are not providing the best possible safety for co-workers or patients. Also your rationale is that you claim to have gotten Bell's palsy twice before caused by vaccines. Not nRNA ones though. So, what components are common and do you believe are causing Bell's? Also, you feel the probability of contracting Guillaine-Barre is too high for your comfort level. And lastly myocarditis. That's your choice. If there is substantiated proof you are at a particularly high risk for life threatening complications then a physician or several will substantiate this and you will be reassigned to a non-frontline position. If not, accept the outcome of your decision. And expect SOME name calling as it goes with the territory. Or don't announce your choice in public to avoid confrontation.
