I was getting anxious so I convinced myself that I needed to get something just to alleviate the symptoms of the mod bug
Got some TOM's USDM tail lights from FT86Speedfactory. I decided on USDM over JDM because I wanted the full red blinkers vs the amber blinkers on the JDM version.

Random shot of my buddies GS450h lol

As winter started creeping closer, I started stocking up on parts...

First the wheels. Volk TE37SL 18x9.5 +40

And when winter FINALLY hit, I put the car up on jackstands, stored it on one side of the garage ready to be worked on come spring 2015... Also test fitted the TE's for fun

....

I also found one of my favourite shift knobs for sale on the forums here - WC Lathewerks Titanium Sphere. I had this same knob previously on my STI and loved it so much. The fit, the weight - everything was way better than all the other knobs I've tried (J's Racing, ARC, etc).

Just around Christmas - my wife got me ST coilovers - made by KW as most of you know - pretty stoked on these ones, as I've heard a lot of good reviews on them.

....

And for my birthday, my friends, wife, and sister got my a King of Vertex steering wheel! I've been wanting this since my STI... Finally!

Also got these late December - just in time for Christmas actually. Perfect pairing with the ST coilovers. Eventually I want to replace all of the arms and links with Cusco parts and then add on Cusco suspension reinforcements.

Last weekend, the wife and I tackled a small little DIY project. Decided to wrap the interior pieces in Alcantara

Took about a full evening, but we did alright I think!

For those interested - I have a full DIY up on my blog

And finally - a couple days ago, a friend at Toyota hooked me up with a set of black buttons to match the black alcantara.

Simple but effective!

Finally installed the coilovers and control arms today... Here are some pics from today...
Also a full post on my blog for those that are interested:
http://lifewithjson.com/2015/01/18/s...lover-install/

I left 3 threads on the front, 9 on the back... I won't get to see how it'll look until I get the rest of my parts... But I'll be sure to keep this updated. Still waiting on a few more things before I put it back down on the ground and it won't be started up until March-ish... More parts incoming though!

Got my hub in today... So that means the Vertex wheel goes on!!

Quick write up and DIY on my blog like usual:
http://lifewithjson.com/2015/01/20/i...teering-wheel/

Thanks to TF works for the super quick shipping and great service

Then throw away the stock wheel... LOL

New parts came in today GT86 headlights

Installed the new headlights today!

Like always - if you want to see the full process, check out the blog:
http://lifewithjson.com/2015/01/24/i...86-headlights/

Oops - also forgot to post the Ti bolts for my steering wheel up. Nothing huge - but it does make a big difference in the look of the wheel!

_________________________

A friend went to Tokyo Auto Salon not too long ago and picked up a few goodies for me! First one up is Project Mu lug nuts... Love these bad boys.

_______________________________
Another nice pick up from TAS was a Vertex Gold Horn button! Details, details, details.

________________________
Small update. Wrapped the cluster hood and a pillars in alcantara. I think I'll be taking the dash apart to just do it all soon.

-------------------------------------------------------

Wheels/tires mounted and the car has been put back on the ground finally!

I like what you've done with your build thus far, very nice!

Any exterior shots yet with the TE37's and the coilovers installed?

Thanks!

Unfortunately not. I've been hoarding all these parts since October... And the car has also been parked since October.
Canada has a loooooooong winter season... However, I will be installing all of the suspension pieces this weekend. I'll be picking up tires shortly and I would say it will be able to see the light of day again starting in March-April.

Definitely subscribing. I remember your STi build on IWSTI.Com. Followed that car as well. Definitely looking forward to this build.
