For what it's worth, you aren't describing bad kids, your describing bad parents, or over indulgent parents.

But, I get it, and hey if you don't want kids, then that is your choice and I have no problem with it.

Yeah same. I’m assuming it’s the media press… just weird they do it in Utah. To be correct, around city Im at. Toyota & Volvo do it in Utah, but they usually go to Park City for Media Press stuff.

I should of u-turn & took a photo or asked the guy to let me sit inside. Cuz the all the doors were open & dude was there.

I lost my dad before I turned 16. He was a great man but clearly uncomfortable around other children. Years after his death, I learned from my mom how he was dead set against children and how much hell he put my mom through because she conceived me. Kind of on purpose... underhandedly even though they were already married. She almost left him because she was afraid of how he might treat me.

Anyhoo,... I popped out and, as the story goes, one look at me and he was immediately transformed into the man who invented fatherhood. I was utterly shocked when I first learned about their life before me.

A lot of those questions are like the calls I field at work.

Cust: I am having an issue with X, it has this symptom. I can't figure it out.

Me: Even after watching the troubleshooting video, looking at the diagram, and the manual on our website??

For a long time I was always under the impression my dad never wanted kids. He was always there when I was a kid, but always seemed kind of aloof. We did a lot of things as a family but he always just seemed grumpy and put out about it. We did a lot of camping, riding motorcycles, days at the lake. I spent a shit load of time in the garage with him and his friends while they worked on things. It took me till my late 20's to realize he was just exhausted from supporting a family and took us every where with him to spend time no matter how tired or shitty his week was. He commuted 100 mile round trip working graveyard most of the time. Then would come home without sleep, load the camp trailer, and take us somewhere for the weekend. Thinking about doing that now makes me tired, and he did that into his 40's. My brother still has quite a complex about our childhood. Anymore I plan around dad's schedule, he did it for me.

I got along fine with my Dad until I was about 2 years old. Then he came back from WWII and started making me do chores on the farm -

My dad was a Marine for 13 years who wanted to be a DI. He was a pretty strict disciplinarian. When I started mowing lawns for money he would take 10% if I used his mower. If I wanted an allowance the lawn needed mowed and trimmed, cars washed, dishes done at least a couple times during the week. If it wasn't done to his standard I got nothing until it was. He checked to make sure we made our beds every morning(he was the one that taught us). If I wanted something more then what he could provide I had to pay for all of it myself, he didn't split the difference. When I wanted to get my drivers license I had to buy my own car. Personal accountability was a huge thing with him. It was frustrating as a kid when my friends were getting bought bicycles or their first car bought for them. But in the end even in high school I always had money in my pocket and my own car. Most of my friends didn't even have one of those things. Hard lessons have become my favorite. I wouldn't have it any other way.
