Ok, Honest question. I've driven many a porch. In what way is it more eventful than a twin? Sure, it's a little different, but I argue that my stock frs is just as eventful.

Some are happy with a frozen pizza, some set the bar at Pizza Hut. You also have people that only make their own, while others that only eat 5-star expensive restaurant pizza. They are all pizza and 'do' the same thing. It is just a matter of what you like, effort and, what you want to get out of it mentally and physically. What is expensive to some might be cheaper to others. What might be a rare special event might be a weekly weekend ritual to others. It's what you want out of the event and what it gives you that matters.

The 997 Carrera I drove was like the 2013 FRS turned up to 11, with the FRS at 8.75. The 996 Carrera was more like a 10. I believe neither were S models.

I've had several 911's. The power delivery and the engine sound are the biggest differences. In my '73 S I never turned the stereo on, just rolling down the windows and listening to that thing go through the gears was the best music possible.

Newest I've driven was my bro's C-2 and at the end of the day, he and I both agreed that the difference was meh. I get what you're saying but I'm super curious about trying to define the visceral differences. Sure, power delivery, and whatnot... but the most eventful parts of the Porsche are how it digs into corners, and how happily the front likes to be tossed.

Six is gonna six but flat is definitely still there. All the right parts of the flat, IMO, event-wise.

Which 911?
I honestly have given up on getting a Porsche at some point. The more I drive them the more I realize that I much prefer FR over MR/RR.
My favorite 911 I’ve driven so far is the 997 C4S, it actually lets you drive it on the edge without trying to take your head off. It lets go fairly gradually (for a 911), and the FWD helps pulling it back in line. But if all I want is a fun RWD car that is easy to drive at the limit, isn’t that what FR is really good at? |

I think you might also be describing what I mean by "eventful." I can see the merit because It's a very different way to skip along. I do enjoy it.
