I have the gates 6PK2315 and yes smaller pulley. I've just fitted a new belt, I'll keep an ear out for it now. Perhaps it is belt slip when revs drop below idle.

Mine has been doing this as well since day one. When I moved to the smaller pulley I also went to a 6PK2310 belt. It still slips occasionally when the a/c compressor cuts in at idle, but nowhere near as often as it used to.

I did wonder about dropping belt size a tad.

I'm not full convinced it belt slip though. I don't get it when I fast shift (well the tyres squeek

) But not the belt

Mine has never made a peep when the a/c is off. Nor have i heard it when tracking the car with the a/c on. Only when the a/c cuts in while at a standstill. Sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard lol. I wonder if its a bearing in the compressor clutch or something.

This does sound like my symptoms. The SC isn't really pulling on the belt at idle so I doubt it's that. AC clutch is a possibility

Is it even possible to still get the maps for the ecu since this product has been discontinued for so long?

So I don't think my stock clutch is going to last much longer. I've noticed some slippage in 5th and 6th gear if I punch it at mid rpms. Any recommendations on a good clutch that will hold the torque of this supercharger? Looking for OEM feel. This supercharger really puts out the power...

Going with a South Bend Stage 2 Daily clutch, a billet chromoly shifter fork and pivot, tungsten disulfide powder for friction, Motul 300 oil, a Fidanza lightweight aluminum flywheel (10.35lbs), MTEC shifter springs and a Perrin polyurethane rear shift rod bushing, whiteline transmission bushing.

Seems that with the added torque of the supercharger, it can take a lighter flywheel and maybe have some snappier throttle response. We'll see how it goes. All the other transmission mods... well because the transmission will be out, so why not?

Looking at the top of the engine, it looks like it's going to be a little difficult getting to the slave cylinder, wiring harness and starter motor because of the intake and coolant lines. Will also need to drop the Cosworth exhaust. Not exactly looking forward to that again.

The OEM clutch still works for now, but if I punch it in high gear it will rev up without accelerating much. So going with a stiffer pressure plate and thicker clutch plate. Also read that the OEM shifter fork is very weak and can contribute to uneven push on the throwout bearing which will lead to premature failure and chatter. So going with a new fork to hopefully alleviate that problem.

One last thing. This supercharger has been completely OEM in reliability for me once I got some of the initial install bugs worked out. I kind of expected the stock clutch to go eventually. This thing puts out a lot more than stock power. I just got back from a 6 hour road trip and it behaved flawlessly. Getting about 31 real miles per gallon out of it and it weaves through traffic like a hot knife through butter.

You wanted OEM feel and went with a lightweight flywheel? I'm interested in hearing how you like the engagement feel of the south bend, but I can tell you 100% you are going to get a lot more harmonic noise in the drivetrain.

I think the ideal thing for this car is to find a pressure plate with double the clamping force and then use a stock disc with its 'wide angle damper' to keep the harmonics down.

I have been hearing about harmonics and you are probably right. However some people have reported minimal increase in noise. I was thinking about swapping out the harmonic balancer with a fluid filled unit from Fluidampr if it starts to shudder. I haven't done any of the work yet and am not fully committed to the lighter flywheel. However I like quick shifting and still, this car sometimes takes too long to rev down so I thought the lighter flywheel would help that. It's experimental for me and my fingers are crossed that I don't regret it.
