Thumbs down Car washes in/around Philly?

Anyone know of a good car wash and/or detail place around Philly? I've had some... less than ideal experiences so far and google reviews for places don't sound too much better.

I know I should probably just be doing it myself, but apartment living and generally being lazy are holding me back, but my car is embarrassingly dirty right now

Are you looking for a detail or just a wash?

If around the center city area I had good luck with Wash & Lube at Spring Garden St for normal car washes, but they are bit pricey

Sounds like you are not super anal about car washes or you would be doing it yourself so this may be good enough for you. It is a hand wash and you see the guys cleaning it as it goes through from a window inside the waiting area.

There are better places if you are looking for a real detail.

Wash it yourself. You'll do a much better job than most car wash places.

There is a car wash at 3rd & Oregon that will hand wash and vacuum for about $25. Ive taken mine there twice and you can watch from a window inside. They do a pretty good job and I am obsessive about hand washing.

I would, time and apartment living are holding me back. I work Monday to Friday and travel on the weekends. I think I may have a chance to do it this weekend though.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I wish I had more time to care for this car myself. Doing it myself would be easier if I at least had a water source somewhere near where I park. To wash with buckets I'd have to schlep a few full buckets all the way out of my building and across a parking lot

If you need a proper detail (wash, clay, buff, and sealant) I can do it one weekend. Like I said prices are reasonable. :P But I dont know how far you are willing to drop the car off.

Thanks for the offer. I'm honestly considering it, but my problem is that I've got no other transportation, so I'm basically stuck wherever unless I call a cab or decide to try to figure out Philly's mass transit system (spoiled NYC native).

I found that where I'm headed this weekend has a self serve wash not far away so I might give that a shot.
