My Crazy Weekend

4 days after getting my BRZ, I can finally take a deep breath and try to recall what happened during a weekend where I had to squeeze in a trip to Utah to pick up my car.

I fly to Nor Cal on Thursday night to attend a wedding on Friday. My original plans were to stay there for the weekend. That all changed when I got the call on Wednesday that my car would arrive at the dealership on Friday in Utah. I leave the wedding ~ 2AM and try to cram in a couple hours sleep since my flight to Utah was at 5AM. I fly to Salt Lake and am out of the dealership by 11AM. (Jon Barney and Doug Smith Subaru get high marks from me).

I drive to Vegas to meet up with a good friend who had bought a black FR-S on Friday. Like everyone else, I was getting alot of looks / honks / thumbs up by people on the road. The section of 15 that dips into Arizona for a bit was fun after driving in a straight line for so long.
I make it to Vegas by 5PM and at this point my body is in complete fatigue and exhausted. I was running on pure adrenaline from finally getting my car, excited for game 7 in the ECF, and the Pacquiao fight.

We watch the game and the fight at a closed circuit at Mirage (fight was cool, atmosphere was great, the fight ending was..... egregious.. thought there was going to be a riot!)

The plan afterwards was to try to get into EDC but I was just dead tired.

I drive back to my apartment in LA Sunday, go straight to my bed and pass out with a smile on my face knowing my BRZ is finally here!

My biggest scare for this car was the bad reviews on the Navi and I have found it to be better than expected. It does get clunky/slow sometimes when it narrows down the list as you enter each letter. For example, lets say you want to go to Arrow street. You enter the 'A' and it will pause as the navi works and cuts down or retrieves a list of street names that begin with A. You enter 'R' and it will repeat the process (it does this so it can gray out the letters for street names that do not exist). The pauses vary from 1-5 seconds which can be irritating. I wonder if there is a way to disable the query it does after each letter and just have it done after you have entered the entire street name.

Now... time to find some accessories
