Driveshaft Shop Aluminum Drive Shaft.

Got one of these in today for stock and had to get shots of how sexy it was.

The 1-piece aluminum driveshaft for the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ is a complete 6061-T6 3" aluminum shaft that is approximately 1/2 the weight of the factory 2-piece driveshaft. The 1-piece aluminum shaft features larger, replaceable and greaseable u-joints. By removing the factory 2-piece shaft and installing a single shaft the car will feel more responsive due to the lighter weight of the shaft and also the fact that the hanger bearing is not moving up and down during acceleration.

Driveshaft Shop Aluminum Weight is 13.2lbs
Stock is 24.2lbs

Really cheap way to loose some rotating mass, and install is super simple.

I've always wondered what the torque loss is through the stock centre hanging bearing and U-joint on the stock shaft. Replacing it with a straight shaft like this will cut that loss out - although perhaps add some loss back in with the different U-Joint angles at the transmission and differential. Anybody know how to calculate this or have the shaft joint angles?

Nope it's just here waiting for a new owner. We try and keep one of most everything on hand if not multiple items as we know people want to go race on the weekends.

I'm horrible at math but that would be a neat calculation to see done.

Looks great! May have shot themselves in the foot with this. Not much of a point to spend almost double for 1lb difference between this and the CF one.
