Wheel Directory: OEM Wheels Painted Silver/Gray

First time I've ever done Plastidip on wheels. It came out really good, I hope it holds up.

Now I'm just wondering why they couldn't make them silver from the factory.

The aluminum is a new type of "True Metallic" Plastidip. By itself it is matte silver with a lot of metallic. It is very close to OEM aluminum wheels, maybe slightly darker. With the glossifier top coat it think it would look OE. It also comes in Dark Grey and Bronze/Gold.

Yea obviously I think Aluminum is right for Asphalt, although I think all three colors could look good. I think its only been available like 3-4 days and I live like 40 miles from the place I got it. I've been wanting to paint them silver but then I saw this and pulled the trigger. Once I need new tires I think I'll just paint them. The dealer I bought my car from gives you free tires as long as you own the car, so I'm going to try harder to run OE wheels for the street.

Exactly how the stock rims should have looked from the factory! Awesome.

How many cans did it take?

These look great! Seriously wondering why they couldn't have been one color. I'm doing mine in metallic black, maybe with a gloss. I think I'll try this one in the future.

It took 3 cans to do 4 wheels. I had to redo one so it actually took me a little more than that, I'd order 4 cans if I were doing it for the first time. Watch the videos on youtube for the "true metallics", he gives a pretty good description of how to apply it.

It's holding up perfectly, I wash them once a week and they still look like the day I applied it.

Very nice looking. I just ordered the new anthracite color to go with my Argento. Hoping it turns out as nice as yours.

These look really great! I agree with the others that this should be a stock look from the factory. Thanks for posting the pics.
