Please dad, can I just be young AND enjoy classical music??

I love that priceless look whenever I tell people I have a high end audio setup just for listening to 80's pop music.

Your Dad hit one of my trigger buttons!
Why the hell are we expected to change our tastes in things because we get older? WHY???
The especially applies to things like music. I get flak from a good buddy all the time because I still like the heavy stuff. He has transitioned into light jazz and string quartets because "At my age I can appreciate them". No, you changed because you feel that you need to prove how mature and sophisticated you are (in his case not everybody). He got rid of his 100s of hard rock albums because "I just find it noise now" and says I should do the same. BULLSHIT I hate that crap and feel no need to change because I am older.
There must still be young people in every generation that enjoy the classical stuff or it would be gone by now. Those "old people" now all come from the era where metal was born are not contemporaries to the generation that wrote the classics.

And why the hell wouldn't you! That is what you like to listen to and why not have quality to do it with? Music snobs are the worst.

Agree 100%

The other day I had Alexa crank up The Tubes "White punks on dope". My 16 yo comes out of his room, "Dad, turn it down!" I started laughing.

I still have all my rock, just converted it to CD over the years. Most friends listen to country now

People are down right shocked in my taste of music until you look really close at my stuff and see the natural transition within the genres. The stuff today didn't just pop up out of nowhere it evolved and I evolved with it. That isn't hard to understand.

Just because I didn't go Hendrix to Cooper to Sweet to Nirvana to String quartet doesn't mean that my tastes are not age appropriate.

Yes country sucks but that just means I don't need to listen to it not that I need to tell other people they shouldn't.

Alright ladies. I need some opinions on the idea of a used b8.5 s4. Im considering a graduation gift and such, that i will buy myself. But, alas, I also would love to save for a house and things like that. I would rather not buy into a money pit. Thoughts?

What would you use it for? Is there a valid reason to have two cars? Does it have to be something as costly?
