Average MPG in SoCal?

I was just wondering what everyone else was getting. My friend and i have been comparing our MPG's. I have been getting roughly 27.2 Mpg (with an automatic) and he has getting roughly 22.5 Mpg (with a manual)

Disclaimer: I am not sure about his driving habits and how much he drives city/highway.

I'm asking specifically for Socal, since other regions have different characteristics so it might be different.

Distance: 40-50 Miles Daily
Current Miles ~2300
Average Mpg: 27.2
City/Highway: 50 City / 50 Highway
Traffic (Yes/No)(If Yes, How much traffic): Yes, Roughly 50% traffic
Automatic/Manual: Automatic
I commute from Anaheim (around The Block of Orange) to CSULB. I take the 22 to the 405. I leave at 7, and i head home at 5. I hit traffic everyday, both ways lol.

Average Mpg:

Current Miles ~2500
Average Mpg: 28
City/Highway: 25%/75%
Traffic (Yes/No): yes
Automatic/Manual:[/QUOTE] Manual

my stats are kinda weird since I carpool and/or walk to work sometimes haha, but I do alot of weekend fun driving. Long story short, I get awesome mpg

as for your manual friend getting bad mpg, he needs to learn to skip gears lol

Distance: Very Sporadic (5-100)
Current Miles: 4000
Average Mpg: 25-26
City/Highway: 50/50
Traffic (Yes/No)(If Yes, How much traffic): Yes, I'd say roughly 25%
Automatic/Manual: Manual

I usually only drive my FRS on the weekend. Haven't reset the MPG stats since I got the car. Tracked 3 times. I also wait around 3-5 minutes to warm the car up so that probably makes the MPG average go down.

Thanks for the replies guys, i was hoping that driving the car more (putting more miles on it) would slowly increase the avg mpg. Ive been stuck at 27.1-27.3 for awhile now lol

Also, I usually drive back home on the weekends to Irvine so tack on another 100 miles or so. On the weekdays I commute from Pasadena to Burbank for work.

I noticed after my first oil change it did increase my MPG slightly. It could of easily been my driving style tho.

Distance: 22 - 24 miles
Current Miles: 5,250

Average Mpg: 24 - 25 mpg
City/Highway: 15% city/85% hwy
Traffic (Yes/No)(If Yes, How much traffic): Yes/sporadic
Automatic/Manual: AT

It's a bit weird for me. If I keep the "sport" on then I tend to get lower mpg, of course. Also, I can't seem to get anything over 26 mpg unless I do extended trips on hwys for distances longer than, say, 20 miles.

BTW, I do not reset my avg mpg gauge at fill ups. And I haven't reset that gauge in, probably, 1,000 miles.

The gauge is largely inaccurate. The only way to measure real milage is routinely filling the tank to the same fullness and resetting your trip meter between fill ups.

I'll try resetting mine and see how that goes.

I got more MPG with the camry (4 cyl) than i do with this car, and i drive about the same, but i filled up less with the camry, and i only dumped 87 with the camry.
