Here are the pictures of the pipes I have been working on--cut, sanded, and cleaned.

Today I started the install, and I also got my 4bar Delicious map sensor and tune!

I did a spark plug change because I was in there, and it was due (62k miles). Definitely a pain in the ass to do. I ended up sticking a deep socket in then attached a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter and to that a 3/8 to 9/16 hex adapter, which then allowed me to reach the assembly with a ratchet and 9/16 socket. Then I had to remove the ratchet and hand loosen the spark plug, but once I did I couldn't remove the socket assembly, so I had to use a screwdriver to separate the adapters, so I could remove each part of the assembly. Ugh.

Starting the tear down:

And this is the reason for catch cans ladies and gentlemen:

It is on!

...but not finished. Much more to do tomorrow. Then I work two days then I am off for three, and it should be done by then.

I finished the majority of the install today. I just have a few more things to do, which I will get to when I am off work again next Tuesday.

I still have to install the water pipes I made then the passenger side fuel rail cover n ECU then add coolant then mount the catch cans n strut bars and then flash the car.

Part of me is excited. The other part is afraid there will be a problem; I don't want to have to tear it apart because some hose kinked, or some leak is there. I'm also slightly scared of breaking the motor, yet also excited of course for the extra power.

I'll add some pics...

Today I was able to measure up the pipes because the SC manifold was on the engine. I tack welded the ends and confirmed fitment then welded the pipes, sanded and painted. I did several coats of black engine enamel (500 degree) and the same for several layers of clear before baking the pipes in the oven.

Here is one of the catch cans. It has a filter system on the "in" port, and I added some steal wool to the container for extra measure. The kit was nice for the price. It came with multiple sized nipple fittings, or AN fittings, which match the AN heat covered lines. The kit also came with a plug for the top, which is what I am using to run the kit in a closed loop, or there is a mini filter to vent to atmosphere for an open system. Lastly, it has a valve for the bottom to drain the fluid when the times come.

Almost looks complete. I mocked up the water pipe hoses. This is going to look great. Definitely worth the time and effort, IMO. Can't wait to show you guys.

BTW, getting the fuse board to the fuse box off to wire the kit was a bitch.

Very sleek kit! Keep up the good work. I'm also curious how the OEM-style oil regulator will perform in tandem with the Harrop kit.

Thanks.

I think it will be fine for the street. Probably not for the canyons or other stuff. I have an oil temp and pressure gauge so we will see. I will be switching to 5w30 for my next oil change, so there is that. If the OEM cooler isn’t even adaquate enough for the street then I’ll be ordering the Jackson Racing oil cooler/radiator combo sooner.

Today I was able to get the water pipes installed, and I flushed the system. I got the catch cans hooked up and mounted too. I flashed the car; it was my first time, so hopefully I did it right. I have to do a data log and send it to Delicious, but I don't know how, so I'll figure that out tomorrow.

There is a chirping sound that I have to diagnose too. I don't know if it is from the supercharger or from the belts. It is constant, but the interval is too slow to be from the supercharger rotors spinning, I think, like once every second. Maybe I'll make a video tomorrow.

Update: Good news is the squeak/squeal is gone. I did the water spray test on the belts, and it went away. That is a relief. I sent DT my log. Hopefully I hear back from them today. I have to install the pans under the car then I can drive her.
