is it safe to use the 91 oct tune on my car if I use 93 oct fuel? or should I just wait for shiv to respond back with the proper 93 oct tune?

It's safe to do 93 Oct on a 91 tune, but not 91 Oct on a 93 tune.

93 octane has less chance of knocking under high compression and heat. If the tune is safe on 91, it is safe on 93. If it knocks sometimes on 91, you may be better off on 93.
If it never knocks on 91, you’re probably wasting money on 93.

Right... but putting 2 dollars more when you pay for fillup with 93 is way cheap if engine knock and grenade itself and need new engine. Why risk saving like $80 buck at year in gas savings?

Absolutely. If you sometimes knock on 91, 93 is a good choice. I use it too.

shiv told it okay to run 91 tunes and filled out with 93 oct I have not ran into any issue yet on the car. The car runs great the different between 91 tunes vs 93 tunes is timing. but it up to you if want to run it I don,t take any responsibility something happen to car. this is just my experience . if do run
it just check knocking and data log to see that everything running correctly

Lets face it, the knock control strategy on the FA20 is pretty good so the engine isn't likely to grenade itself on a 91/93 octane difference.

So shiv emailed me back and said that I can ignore the name of the files and that they are for 91-94 oct. Can anyone confirm this is true? I have a 2013 Scion FRS AT with an UEL catless header so I will be using the stage 2+ tune. I wish I could post the tune here as an attachment but it wont let me. If anyone can confirm that this tune would be safe for me to use on 93oct that would be awesome! I'll gladly email it to you as well if you would like to check since I know nothing really about specs and settings of tunes. Thanks guys!

no your right, that's just me being more concerned than I should be. I guess these new tunes have been out for a while now but haven't really seen anyone post about them or how they are different/better...just don't want to do something to my car, that works perfect how it is now, that can potentially damage it. thanks for all the input guys and I apologize for being such a worry wart. I'll probably put on the tune tonight when I get off work and I will let you know how it goes..

They are still officially on beta mode. Shiv didn't come back to update the topic. I would never put something beta on my car, no matter how well was tested by other owners. Maybe it is just me.

damn woah wait v4?! damn you guys are making me think about putting the v3 "beta" tune on my car now...just for the simple fact ive yet to see someone post in the forums about how "oh man these new v3 tunes are so much more improved from the v2.076" why even risk it if they haven't even been officially released yet right?...its been about a year now these things have been in "beta" though...
