A little direction required
Just got back into a BRZ. 2019 😁
Eventually I want to tune and extract a little more power. For this I guess I will need headers. Want something quite quiet keeping everything else stock. Suggestions for header and tune would be appreciated |

If you are keeping everything else stock it will be fairly quiet even with an uncatted header. I am running uncatted header, and a front pipe with a high flow cat. My car is pretty quiet, louder then stock but not buy a lot.

^ second this. Leave rest of exhaust stock and decat your header or buy aftermarket header. Noise increase will be barely noticeable

A few options for you to consider.
Middle of the road header like the hks EL. It's pretty affordable at $630 and good for 10-20wheel. https://www.vividracing.com/-p-15071...hoCKEUQAvD_BwEhttp://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41525 The undisputed best performaning header the Ace a350. Ace is aware they make the best option and price it accordingly $2,000. Good for 30wheel https://www.counterspacegarage.com/a...0-brz-frs-gt86https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121460 My suggestion: forego engine mods, and install lowering springs or coils, and a catback. It is going to make you car FEEL like a go-cart. Speed is relative. It's all about how the car FEELS. you will hardly perceive power gains, but giving the car the presence it deserves by lowering it, makes a huge aesthetic improvement, as well as handling gains. If your car is bumpy and noisy it will feel more like a sports car. 15 more horsepower will not make your car feel like a sports car The answer you are looking for; header, tune, and flex fuel. you have some header options, and my opinion on why you shouldn't go that route.

I think one point to make is headers aren't really about peak hp gains. It is about your midrange and helping out where the torque dip is, that plus a tune (mostly timing tweaks plus a remap of throttle) will make your car drive nicer and feel more sporty. Most headers do increase noise also - in a good way imho - if you install catted headers and leave the rest stock, your overall noise won't increase too much but you will hear most headers under the car inside your cabin. The stock headers are wrapped in a shield where aftermarket headers are not. That NVH increase inside the cabin made my car feel more "visceral".

Also can confirm- I had catless headers with stock catback, car sounded awesome. Also ran with catless front pipe. No extra power, just stink and lighter pockets. I put the stock frontpipe on and enjoyed a responsive, crisp sounding car

ACE headers heat wrapped almost stock noise levels, much improved torque dip area.
I am going to replace the frontpipe with the HKS dual resonated for the same exact reason, low noise levels while I want to flatten the torque curve! |

As other mentioned catless header on stock exhaust is very subtle.
You have a decently wide selection of header choice depending on your budget and sound preference. From high dollar EL 4-2-1 Ace header+ecutek to UEL gruppe-s+OFT. I'm am the ladder setup with gruppe-s headers+OP on stock exhaust. Cost just over 1k CAD vs closer to 4K for ace setup. I do suggest getting a more dialed tune over canned off self stuff. Very livable and quiet. Rear seats up it sounds very much stock. |

My setup (before supercharger), p&l 4-1 catted header, greddy sp elite muffler, stock everything else except OFT:
And a long boring in-car: Skip to 5:30 for a quick accel run. Very refined overall- but you do hear a little more and feel the exhaust under your feet more with an un-wrapped/unshielded header. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

I would say the JDL 4-2-1 EL is the nice middle ground for headers
