Maybe they'll drop the bomb at TMS and give up a number around 215-220hp for the FR-S rather than all the rumored 197-200hp numbers popping up in magazines. I'm not real familiar with Toyota when it comes to new cars, have they under-rated HP in the past? Perhaps the specs will list 200hp but once someone gets it on a dyno we'll be pleasantly surprised with a HP bump? |

This thing has more compression, likely better combustion, and likely less friction than an F20C which still manages an 800 rpm spread. At the rpms they both run for their peaks the friction is going to be way less on the FA20. That and the fact that a 2GRFSE can push a BMEP 196 psi makes the 151 lb-ft just not make sense. 151 peak @ 6600 is terrible when paired with the 197 bhp @ 7000.

HIDS head lights now standard across the entire 2013 mustang lineup, including the V6!
http://www.autoblog.com/2011/11/15/2...aging-updates/ Ford even offers HID fog lights as a option...I never heard of HID fog lights... So this makes it even a better chance that the HIDs will be standard in the Scion version of the FRS...ie High Spec based...but it depends on how they price the vehicle... |

I just don't think they are printing fake materials to leak just to say at TMS "HAHA We fooled you!".

Maybe they're under promising with the leaks in order to really floor everyone when they do the official release in two weeks?

Are we really going to be floored by 19 more ftlbs? Sure, I wouldn't mind it, but I'm fine with 151 too.. that's still more than my current cars have (stock) :P

If it's not underrated it might be de-tuned. Remember Toyota is really pushing MPG and emissions marketing. The test drives were done on LRR eco tires. |

It's possible they leaned the fuel way out, retarded timing and added a bunch of EGR... Hey, I can dream can't I?

That's what I'm talking about. If they're looking for low fuel consumption and low emissions, they would lean the mix out (more MPG, more NOx, less CO2) and use a bunch of EGR (less NOx).

Go read a guide to OBDII ECUs and current emission systems. Edit: Lean burn would only be done under light loads like cruising. And it would require a separate NoX cat and only for limited amounts of time. The US has very strict NoX emission regulations.
