aww man. This is making me question my refusal to replace the suspension. The tire options in 245/40/17 are not as good as I hoped. Really need that last 10mm.

With that said, the widest fitments we currently have designed for this release are 17x9.5" and 18x9.5". For 17" wheels, the widest compounds we see track enthusiasts and racers using are 255/40-17's. In 18's, we see both 255/35-18 and 265/35-18. All of these compounds are well supported by a 9.5" wheel to promote good wear and handling characteristics, and weight is kept to a minimum. As you guys know, with the right aftermarket coilovers and negative camber specs, 9.5" wheels are a relatively easy fit.

Edit: I'd love to hear from the guys requesting 10" wheels in regards to what the perceived value is.

If the demand is there we can certainly add it to the lineup, but I believe wheels this wide only make sense for high HP cars with flares or widebody kits looking to run 275mm or wider compounds.

Any more fitments you are allowed to say? No sneak peaks of design?

We'll update the community soon

Absolutely! Providing quality and affordable wheel solutions for enthusiast communities has been a focal point for us for over 12 years now. Forums like this give us a unique ability to understand the needs of a diverse audience, and aside from chatting to fellow track junkies in the paddock at the race track, forums are still one of the best ways for us to stay in direct contact with our customers.

A gold finish will definitely be an option in the future. We've been reviewing samples/swatches internally to hone in on the right tone.

Thank you. Upon viewing the album,...I saw a gold color simulation. Also eye-ing satin bronze on red. I've got to say i am egg-cited!

I hate to even ask this, but do you think these new offerings will be released this season or are they being pushed back? (due to rona etc.)

Valid question and thanks for bringing this up as I'm sure others within this thread are interested in an update on our timeline. To ensure everyone's health and safety, we have made some changes in the way we work at APEX during this pandemic. The good news is that we are still up and running, and making meaningful progress on engineering projects.

Naturally, things have been moving a little slower than usual due to COVID-19, so the release date has been pushed back just a bit. As of today, we are expecting to launch a community Group Buy in June to introduce the new ARC-8 flow formed fitments, as well as the all-new forged EC-7R line for 86/BRZ chassis.

We're very eager to get these new fitments, design, and finish options in the hands of 86/BRZ enthusiasts, and look forward to updating everyone again real soon.

Stay safe and hopefully, we are all back at the track sooner than later.

- Ryan

Hey Ryan, thanks for the update. While I don't own any Apex wheels yet, I love how you guys run your business and how communicative you are. Thank you for that.

That means a lot, Pat. Offering a desirable product is only half the job, everything else lies in good communication, education, and overall pre AND post-sale customer service.

I'm personally very excited about broadening our offering for this community. Every time we are out at the track we are amazed at how many 86/BRZ cars are present.

I just measured runout on my eight summer/track wheels. Unfortunately four of them are more than .070. One is up to .200. I guess you'll be hearing from me tomorrow.

Any chance of hyper black being offered for the 17x9 size?

Almost time! Again it speaks volumes that Apex is willing to expand the product line to the even more hardcore audience that are looking for wider options than the normal 17x9's. Can't wait to buy a set or two and get back on the track after this Corona mess.

Yes, from my brief couple of interactions with them they certainly seem like a solid company who cares about enthusiasts and treats their customers well.

Bad news guys. Yesterday I was informed by Cory S. @ Apex that the new wheels are shooting for a Q4 2020 launch instead of this month that was teased.

Do you mean new sizes of the wheels, or the next production?
