Is it possible to copy all of the info from my OFT rom for my 2013 into a rom for a 2015? Or is there some sort of difference between them that would prevent it from working? by that I mean, change all of the values in the 2015 rom to match.

Cool, simple enough. Could not figure out if they would be the same calid (they are the same transmission).

Thank you!

Really appreciate your effort @steve99 for the generous info.
I have a MY17 Aussie Auto 86 and I'm trying to flash a stage 1 OFT tune onto my car, I'm not sure how the Romraider to Ecuflash conversion software works due to my lack of computer skills. And I think the rom file also needs to be converted (.bin file), whats the best way to flash an OFT tune using Tactrix? Thanks!

@steve99 I came across this from @Tor on unbricking ECUs with EcuTek, I'm aware you replied in that thread back then but no reason that this can't be replicated in the same manner with EcuFlash?

As a sidenote:
As far as I can tell, it’s possible to unbrick any ECU using Ecutek (flashed with any other solution and without the help of Ecutek support). It would require a license, but you would then also have an Ecutek license on the ECU you could use for further tuning, or you could remove it again once unbricked if desired. If knowing someone with an Ecutek cable this is at least a cheap way to unbrick as opposed to buying a new ECU. The secret is to start the flash with the ignition off, press OK and then immediately turn the ignition on. The ECU turns on, but goes directly into programming mode, instead of getting a chance to finish it’s boot and crashing.

Yes that may work with ecuflash, however ecutek or even brzedit seem to be much better at unbricking ecu than ecuflash. I susoect it the timing of getting ecu into programming mode or the number of times the software tries to access ecu.

I have a bench flash setup for these ecu and with brzedit or ecutek i can flash on bench easily. however with ecuflash its very temperamental and i need to get the ignition on signal and the starting the flash process. On the bench you need to do as tor said ignition on then straight away hit go to flash ,. unfortunalty when ecu os in car ecuflash behaves differently and even working ecu if you try to flash instantly on ignition turn it will fail. So i suspect this technigue wont work with ecuflash when ecu in car.

If you have a tactrix its likely cheaper and easier to buy a secondhand ecu usually less than $100 usa and swap it into car resync security and flash it eith compatable rom.

Thanks. Was at least hoping for a single method which Tactrix owners can bring bricked ECUs back to life, especially for those where finding parts is scarce and expensive.

Looks like the only method for them now is to either get a working ECU or get someone with access to Brzedit or Ecutek to perform that procedure. But would the ECU then be 'locked' after?

wont be locked if you flash stock roms with brzedit or ecutek, but if you paid for ecutek licience you would want to stick with ecutek

Hi Guys,
Came here looking for a way to change my OFT to display Metric units and potentially locate a better tune for my BRZ with UEL headers and drop in filter, trying to decode, but this isn't making a whole lot of sense.

I'm in AUS and can't seem to work out how to edit my Definition files to metric. though I don't imagine that would change my OFT real time display.
