They've progressively gotten better. Nearly at max efficiency. From being a drifty monster (on a car with no torque ) they're starting to bite now. Got about 160km on them now.

I'm amazed with how long it takes to get the "shine" off brand new tyres.

Very slidey right now...

52687km on the original set - treadwear indicators beginning to show but still quite good.
How are the tyres treating you?
Need to replace 2 (maybe 4 ) sometime soon in prep for track days.

Looking for some recommendations.

Must be honest I'm slightly impressed, they grip tenaciously but can be provoked to break traction quite easily. They're very vocal shall we say... But predictable. Excellent on the skidpan - massive difference compared to the E90's! They are only 205/55 VR16's but they seem to work well on my car.
@JouMaSeHoes will recommend either Michelin PS3 or Bridgestone Adrenalines... And he can kill tyres!

I ended up fitting a second set of RE002's

Would be interesting if we could get AD08R's in 86 sizes.

That there had me a bit worried, but P4P at Red Star last year in the wet on these tyres was a whole different story. They performed great up to the point where I was ding silly things and they just kept gripping

Sorry, I should have elaborated: By wet I meant absolutely bucketing at Zwartkops, and my .. umm ... "Robust" driving style, combined with water sheeting across the track lead to moments of great hilarity (for me, passengers, not so much).

I remember that day at the Z - torrential downpours.
You should have tried it on my worn semis, they were a serious handful.
If I remember correctly, my best lap time that day was 1m38

I recently spoke to a guy that said he can get. But he was a Type R owner and there was alcohol involved. If he can in fact get, would other people be interested?

EDIT: sizing would be 225x45 r17

Yep, I'd be very interested in AD08's in 225/45R17

A few days ago, I replaced the stock tyres (all four) with Bridgestone RE003. Total cost at SupaQuick was R5900.

Initial impressions compared to stock:
  • much improved braking distances even at low speed urban traffic
  • road noise was not a priority but it's good to note that there is not much difference here (urban and highway cruising)
I'm using the stock recommended tyre pressure of 2.4bar. What tyre pressures do the other RE003 owners use?

On road - also 2.4 bar all round.
I've replaced my worn RE002s with RE003, they're both a ginormous improvement over the crappy stock tyres. They don't last as long though.
