If you call Michelin they will tell you where to go for local warranty claims.
They provided me 3 options of where I could take the tires. If you drive your car aggressively and do some Auto-X driving there is no need to go do burn outs. I am not suggesting anyone go do burn outs to ware down there tires, its a bad idea for numerous reasons IMHO. Thanks |

Thanks for letting us know. I am not going to try to wear the Primacy's out but it just means I can just enjoy the car more with the stock tires and if they don't last 15K then great!

Does anyone have experience with a warranty claim with sidewall chunking on your tires? I've tracked my car a few times and have been good about rotating in between every event, but there is considerable chunking on all outside shoulders. I understand that the act of tracking the car would probably considered "misuse" but I would likely still get the "good faith" discount on a new set. I guess a better question would be, do I have a chance at a better prorate on the next set with the condition my tires are in? What's to say this could not have happened under normal road conditions? I do frequently drive canyons and that could certainly cause the chunking... I think. Just looking for some input. I have 15,600 miles on the stock set, am pretty close to 2/32 and have my DOT and production date info ready. Thanks in advance everybody!
Tony

Wearing out tires with burnouts and autocrossing...then trying to get warranty comp on new tires...what a douche move.
No wonder Michelins cost so much for us honest folks. This whole thread should be trashed. It's an embarrassment. |

So how much of a discount would I get if my tires are worn down at 21k?

I just found out about this and I didn't even have the thought to do burnouts to wear them down. That's just wasteful. But I have already done a few autocrosses and track days, and if Michelin offers coverage, I'd be a fool to pass that up. You think Michelin never suspected that people might take advantage of this sort of thing? No hint of a possibility that they knew this might happen, but they wanted to market this warranty that no other mfg. offers, and so they mark up tires a bit more to compensate? You give them far too little credit.

And for the record, if you do burnouts in order to just take advantage of the warranty, then yeah, you're a jackass. Just sell your Primacys to somebody else instead of being an douche.

Using a warranty offered across the entire product range by the manufacturer? Seems dumb not to, especially since you don't get a choice what tires come on the car from the factory. And having worked in a tire shop I know first hand that Michellin tires are, well were (2005), vastly different internally than those made by anyone else. Better? I don't know, but they were obviously different to the naked eye and to the touch.

Got low air from nail and tire is destroyed on way to get air now. Is this covered? I bought ToyoGaurd but I think separate tie warranty is different

Hey guys! I've just placed a claim for my stock primacy tires and will head into my local sears later this afternoon. All 4 of my tires are down to the wear bar, no autox/tracking or burnouts just spirited and normal driving @24k miles. Trying to get michelin pilot super sports in same stock size. Will let you guys know the rate they will quote me if any of you guys are wondering.
