RGM Supercharged 86 performance data
Hi Guys,
Though I would share this with you... For those who have been to the TTCC track day would know that RGM did some testing while attending the track day. See here for the results of the lap times done at Zwartkops on the day, as well as some tests done previously at Gerotek.... Although the performance figures are realy good... please keep in mind that the test vehicle used was an AUTO as well as the test done at altitude of 1500 above sea level. |

Wonder at what mileage it was initially tested? Always been a Toyota thing - get some km on it and they really open up - RunX RSI Car test was a good example.

My car only started feeling quick after 8000km... Makes sense... But only worth 1 second down...

My car also does 0-100 in over 10 seconds if I give it half throttle!
There is no way that even the auto is that slow. Me smells some marketing manipulation!

Have to agree. Their std spec times are very fishy and because of that, it makes it difficult to trust their S/c times. Although the s/c times do make sense.
Oh well... I'm just glad that we have a local shop doing some decent R&D. Thanks Gooseman. Please keep us posted on new developments :-) |

the auto, (by the specs given) is much much slower than the manual. i've got on multiple occasions under 9 seconds (8.8 average) 0-100 and 213kmh on 5th gear. (tapped off before 6th as i had to take my offramp)
all these figures are from GPS enabled devices and not speedometer readings. i have been collecting this data before the car goes in for the software so that it can be compared afterwards. i do have the Remus and K&N, which really wont make that big a difference. |

i don't agree with the Stock 0-100 times, or the top speed as stated by RGM, with a supper-charger pushing 220kw, this car should be hitting 0-100 in the 5 second range unless they cept the Prius tires, i've done 240kh on the clock and 230kh on gps in my 86 up on the N17

The stock times don't make sense at all... The SC times looks reasonable... although I also think that it could be a tad faster as well. However, should you do the same test with a manual running at the coast I believe one would see 0-100 in the 5 sec bracket and quarter mile in the mid 13 sec's.... RGM did also buy a manual now, and when I last spoke to Rob they going to convert this to a SC car to be used for advertising ext... that's gonna have suspension, bigger brakes ext... ext... I will try and to get some more info from him at TTCC's next dyno day - it's gonna be at RGM... More info on that event will be posted up within this week. Hope that RGM will also then release performance stats for the SC manual as well... will have to wait and see. |

Mmmm fishy....The car will NOT make 147kw on our 95RON fuel unless their dyno grossly over-reads, also funny how it hits the claimed 147kw EXACTLY. (I'm referring to that link to the ad posted.)
*edit:* As someone else mentioned who posted here but their post seems to have vanished... Taking altitude and 95 octane fuel into account...is should definitely be making waaaay less then 147kw stock. Last edited by Dammod; 02-04-2015 at 02:13 AM. |
