Goo Gone is citrus oil based (oily mild acid) and I am 100% sure it is ok for urethane based clearcoat. Used it many times.

You likely have some adhesive residue you didn't remove or the orange colour of the product somehow got into the clearcoat.

Alternately if there is absolutely no residue, you need a detailer or paint shop to either wet sand at an ultra fine grit and polish or apply a mild cutting compound and buff off a thin layer of clearcoat. Don't try this yourself!!! Trust me on this one.

A trick to remove gummy adhesive after Goo Gone application is put a bit of flour on the gum and roll it off with your fingers. It MUST be dry to do this.

I thought the caption read "Goo Gone f**ked my wife"!

On my Argento, I have a pink stain below the headlight, I think it happened while on the barge. I also has some bug crap on the front last week and after I wiped it there was still a yellow stain, right near the front emblem. The car has a fresh coat of wax on it so I'm not really sure but it seems the front bumper cover can easily be stained. Buffing it did nothing but the yellow stain is going away from sitting in the sun, the pink hasn't changed.

im really sad now.. maybe someone know how to fix it?
I think I kind of see it on the left area of the Toyota halo. Man, is the Subaru paint that shitty that even Goo Gone messes it up?! I've used Goo Gone on my Tacoma which is Super White and never had any discoloring.

I used a bit of windex for any of my debadging - no issues yet on 4+ cars.

Now that's the kinda stuff that scares me...even after waxing and buffing no luck, eh?

I made the same mistake on my M3, and it was neon stain on the trunk size of my thigh lol. Fortunately in the end after a lot of polishing, all the stain came off.

You'd need some level of cut polishing, the stain on mine was from the towel i used to rub, the goo gone took the color off and left it in the clear coat

good luck OP!

In the past, and even with a re-paint, the clear is still soft, and can take a few weeks or more to fully out-gas and harden.
I'm not sure how well cured the factory finish is. And they may still use a flex agent which is even softer and in some cases were done and cured under lower temps in a separate paint line.
In this state it is more prone to stains and finish defects if exposed to certain chemicals.

let me know how it works out, a friend removed graffiti from his car with wd 40 successfully!

BTW make sure if you use wd40 to not use it in the sun.
