A whole lot less than the twins. I know our cars are more of a sports car and much better to drive but 99% of the reason is Brand.

Is there anything more to this statement or are you just pontificating?
Edit: Nevermind saw the rumor thread you referenced. |

Well they have been selling them since 2009 here in the States, and there are also a fair number of them where you live. I used to own one and participated on the Gencoupe forum and there were lots of folks on there from NY/NJ.

<10 years from now, 86's will be like Civics were in the prime of the Fast and Furious era. They'll just be way too affordable and available by that point. Yeah, they might be in "limited" production compared to other cars, but they're still produced in the many-thousands.

You're right, they do combine the sales of the Sedan with the Coupe, but their combined YTD sales were about 33,000 units in the US last year and they're on-track for almost 40,000 this year. Based on sales prior to the Coupe's release, you can figure about 12,000 of those are the Sedan, leaving about 28,000 for the Coupe; give or take a couple thousand. More than double what you surmised. Toyota's on target for total FR-S sales of about 20,000 for the year -- a bit less than the GenCoupe actually. Combined with the BRZ for another 8,000 or so and you've got almost exactly the same number of BRZ/FR-S sold in the US as there are GenCoupes. |

http://www.gencoupe.com/general-disc...s-stopped.html I can tell you when I sold mine this year there was not another 2013 2.0T model for sale anywhere in the midwest. At least not used. Dealer had a hell of a time trying to get a good comp and had to find a similar 2013 as mine in North Carolina to get an idea of how long the car had been on the lot and how much. The 2013's are really scarce, and they have been out longer than the FR-S. So I have a hard time believing there are that many out there. |

If you think all the firesale now is bad, wait till fall of next year or summer 2015 when they release a more hp/tq 2015 version (assuming the rumor plan from Toyota is true).

As a kid I use to read car and driver and lust over all the sports cars I would read about, and then I had friends building what would amount to basically a super cars while I sat by and watched. Then I finished college several years ago and waited to get my finances under control and find steady work. Test drove a 370z last year, but did not buy. Then last February I finally went down and test drove the FRS. To me the FRS is my dream car. Black on black, red accents throughout the interior, a true manual, rear wheel drive coupe, light weight, and handles like a dream. Stock this car is everything I want in a sports car. I can't imagine having this much fun in anything else.
