What are people's impressions?

Hello everyone!

I have this question that's been bothering me for a few weeks now, I spoked with few of my friends and even asked my parents about it. (of course they gave completely opposite answers)

So now I am hoping maybe you guys can share your opinions with me, since we have pretty much all age groups represented here (ones in the workforce for over 20 years, and ones like me who are just starting)

Anyway my question is about color choice of your car and consequences of that choice.
I've pre-ordered Sterling Silver Metallic BRZ. And for some weird reason, now I am crazy about WRB (you know how those things go, you look at a few photos, then videos…etc.)

The problem I'm having is that I am currently working in a relatively small company, and everyone knows what car you drive (parking right in front of the building).
Company itself is a relatively small financial company(tie to work everyday), and I am a new guy there (started about 5 months ago),

So my concern is what are people I work for going to think if I get aggressive blue plasma colored sports car.
Are they going to think, "this guy is a joke, he is not mature enough, who the hell we hired…".
Or do you think they will not be bothered by it, and attribute it to "well he is a young guy, so that's normal/expected".

I've never had to face dilemma like this back in college, since I didn't give a sh!t what others thought. But now it's different, cause it's my career and my salary directly depends on this people.

Well, I know it's kinda personal question, but I was hoping that some you folks that been in the workforce for quite some time, and had to drive sport cars (of bright color) might be able to give me some insights.

Basically, do I stick with a subtle SSM BRZ or do I change my pre-order and go for the one I really want, which is WRB BRZ (again I am not talking about aesthetics here).

p.s. sorry about sperging out

Even in my job I don't care what people think about my cars, so I'd go with whatever you want the most.

Personally, I say choose what you want, your personality and work ethic should overshadow any opinion they have about your car. It shouldn't be "He's a ___ because he drives that car." It should be "He's a ____ and he drives that car?"

However. I understand that in some businesses, stuff like this can really matter. Much as I hate it, if your job is one such as that, stick with the SSM. It's only a color. If the difference between silver and blue is the difference between $$ and $$$, then get the silver. You're young, you can always get a blue car when you're the big guy in the office and have the political clout to shove their conceits down their throats.

There comes a time when you have to play the game in order to break the game.

I let my work & confidence dictate my projection on people not the materialistic tangibles I own.

No boss of mine over the last 20 years has mentioned anything about anyone's car with the exception of the sales guys driving sports cars when they try to take clients to lunch. Did have one Boss who would not get a fancy car as he did not want clients thinking their money went to his car.

*Insert "Haters gonna hate" picture*

I think if THEY are mature enough, they wouldn't judge you based on your car. I would figure they would just think "oh he's young and having fun, good for him".

*Personally I don't like WRB but I wouldn't see it as an immature color.

Aren't ya'll tired of WRB already? There are too many of those on the roads today and based on pre-order stats, in the future. I'd go with Galaxy Blue Silica or silver option, especially given the climate (temp\humidity) you live in.

I'd stick to silver over WRB

This car will make an impression on people who care about cars no matter what the color. But unless you are in a executive position where status symbols are sometimes important for things like getting promotions I doubt it matters much.

Look at your company, obviously you know what everyone drives based on the size of your company. If everyone talks about it then it maybe important. Just cause a "car-guy" like you knows what they drive, doesn't mean they know they same. look at your boss or manager and see what they drive??? don't mimic them, but take that piece of information into consideration. Talk to your buddie/s at work and see what they say... if you're really set on buying this car and your co-workers do speak up about it; take it as an opportunity to say you're passionate about cars just like you are about work. just make sure you have a good example to relate the two... so pick the color you want cause you're paying for it... when the time comes, "offer to be the driver to the lunch parties"... have fun driving your car.

by the way WRB is the only reason i would go with the BRZ over the FRS... its the color that separates subarus from any other car... who cares if there's too many WRB subarus out there driving, they're out there for a reason; cause its the best color.

Your coworkers don't give a shit. Get the color you want. You're gonna like the way it looks. I guarantee it.

It's a $25,000 car, not a Bugatti. I wouldn't worry about it.
