86 gts re sale price
Guys,
Looking for some input here, unfortunately I might have to sell my 86 - need a bigger car. What do you think is a reasonable price to sell the car for at this time? Auto White GTS with about 4k on the odo. Added windows tinting and sharkfin antenna. lovingly cared for etc. bought $42k brand new. Car sales have some ridiculous pricing that i have a hard time believing. oh and its in melbourne if it makes a diffrence. Cheers and sad days. |

I'd sell it for 42k, what you paid for it. If you can get it woohoo.

Hey dude, I was in a very similar boat to you - sold my auto white GTS as well a few months ago.
I managed to get a tad bit more than what I bought it for but it definately looks like that 'honeymoon' situation with supply v demand is now over. I'll be surprised if you can break even and get that 42k back... There are so many 86s on carsales before, whereas there were only ~20 back when I was selling. Good luck with the sale! Personally if I was looking for one, I would consider it for $40K maybe less considering 4000ks on it. Having said that, if you manage to find someone with more money than sense, then Bob's your uncle! |

Ive been keeping a close eye on this and agree with the above post, the honeymoon period is certainly close to over.
The good news is that its a GTS and its white. The bad news is that its an auto so there are probably a couple getting around. I would advertise for what you paid for it and expect to get something 1-2k below that. Dissapointing but still much better than any other car which would have lost $5k+ by now. |

Would have to agree with @crouchy35 completely issue going against it would be the auto part, however it is a GTS and white.
In regards to the tint and sharkfin you won't get your money back on any mods just the name of the game. Sell it private though as you will get a lot less as a trade in. |

You should get your money back. |
